If you used it via Curve, it would keep a running spend for you. Used to do that with Fineco and it was very handy.
Interesting that have dropped the ÂŁ100k requirement for the private bank account, and the ÂŁ5k min balance requirement for the sterling account (which that account is also dropped) and merged into one.
Could have been interesting however: If account is based in GBP there is a 2% foreign exchange fee if outside of EU and 1.75% within EU.
- looks like a 75p per transaction charge if outside the transaction limit of your account.
I think it was because Santander has their own Private Banking Arm and having 2 of them doesnât really make any sense.
Anyone else having issues with CA internet banking? I can log on but the site isnât displaying properly.
Same.
Iâm not using it regularly but just trying to log on today and having difficulties.
Mine seemed to be loading okay - sometimes the website has gone blank for me when my session has timed out, and I need to log in again - so might be worth trying logging out and back in if you havenât already.
I actually quite enjoy Cater Allen - whenever I need to contact them, theyâre helpful and quick. And I really like that the online banking is plain and not trying to sell me new products like some other banks.
If Santander were to leave the UK - I wonder whether Cater Allen would be treated any differently?
Cater Allen Limited itself is a separate company to Santander UK plc and has a different banking license. That said, it has no employees as everyone is employed by Santander UK plc.
Does anyone know whether this is still a thing?
I canât see Cater Allen in the list on the Santander app or am I missing something?
Would I be right in saying that you wouldnât see your own salary for instance until a day later then?
I use open banking in Lloyds to view my Cater Allen GBP / Euro balances as some providers (inc Santander) have a limited choice. Be aware you wonât see any live changes as they take a day or two at least to update transactions.
An interesting observation
The cater Allen universal sort code is a mere one digit different to that of Triodos
16-57-10 Vs 16-58-10
Quite surprised itâs not a former Abbey National sort code (09).
Never noticed that before!
Theres something higher in this thread which implies Cater Allen worked off of RBS systems before Santander entered the UK.
Cool stuff!
The 16 sort code will have come from its RBS days.
So Abbey bought Cater Allen before Santander bought Abbey?
I think they did.
Promo brolly from the Abbey National days here (see pic 6)
