Cater Allen Private Bank

Sorry to only get back to you now.

I applied Sunday 18th, Penelope emailed for further details on the 20th and I replied the same day.

I got my successful application letter yesterday. The big bundle came today.

Now that I’ve received everything, I thought it might be useful for potential applicants to post the working day timescale as it functioned for me.

Day 0 (Wednesday) Lunchtime: Application completed and acknowledged

Day 8 : (Monday) Letter 2 received
Day 9: Big Bundle Received
Day 12: Card Received

Day 13 (Monday): PIN received.

I wasn’t asked for any follow-up details at all.

I dont’t know which distinguished britishman you spoke with but I just called them and heard the thickest spanish female accent I have ever heard. After her waffleling for 30 seconds I could only understand the last sentence which is ‘call us next week, bye’. She didn’t even bothered taking my application reference number :sob:

UPDATE: Re called them, I think this time it was the distinguished britishman (and yeah he really is nice to speak with).

Surprisingly my account has been opened (2 day ago) even though I have no income

is it actually Photoshoped ? Seems quite real to me

Knew it was photoshopped (highly doubt they would call it Public Bank) but the red colour does work really well with that design.

I do wonder why Santander is keeping Cater Allen around if they have essentially ditched the income requirement. But cahoot does also still exist so Santander doesn’t seem to like closing their older brands.

no only that but Santander has their own premier banking, private banking and global private banking services so I believe Cater Allen ‘private bank’ is only competing with itself. It doesn’t really make sense.

I should have probably said that yes, it’s photoshop lol

It does. It’s better to compete with yourself than with someone else. Different market, but Hewlett Packard always made a point of doing that.

@ndrw

Yes, my customer number letter (single sheet) came first.

The so-called ‘Big Bundle’ arrived the following day

Got my welcome2 letter after 12 days :expressionless:. Still waiting for letter 1, big pack, card and pin.

And to think that I thought nobody could be slower than Ulster Bank :person_shrugging:

I doubt Cater Allen is that popular though. Why spend time making better systems when it probably gets very few people applying.

Indeed. Do you reckon there’s enough time for me to get their Euro card before I tootle off to Germany on March 30th if I apply this afternoon?

Their sales team are going to be perplexed that they’ve got fifty times the usual new customers for the last couple months from everyone in this thread.

 Winston my dear fellow, what did we do to get so many new peasants?

:man_shrugging: I’ve no idea Rupert, I find the situation rather enigmatical.

Cheque book and postal paying in book both arrived today. Nice sleek design, matches the debit card. Would upload a photo, but by the time I’ve hidden all my personal data there won’t be anything left to look at

What do the Cater Allen debit cards look like in Apple Pay and the actual physical version too please? I remember seeing a post saying they weren’t anything like the version shown on the website, but I can’t now find the photos in the thread. Thanks

@peacefulwave

There you go.

Thanks all

@ndrw I sat waiting for the image to load until I decided to read @whyaydan s message and come back to it haha

The physical card looks quite washed out really, surprised they wanted it shiny. Shame it isn’t a bit more like the Child and Co ones

A tip of the hat to Cater Allen CS this morning.

Got through very quickly to speak to someone to authorise my card and hadn’t - stupidly - got all the necessary information to hand.

The person I spoke with was very patient and extremely helpful. I offered to hang up and call back rather than waste his time but he declined and said it wouldn’t be a problem waiting whilst I retrieved what I needed.

Good stuff.
