Card information rubbing off

This was me, but I would always lose the money or give it away for some bizarre reason - today’s version is create a virtual card connected to a pot and add it to Apple Pay

I’ve just jumped on the Perks bandwagon and regretted ordering the Bold Coral card. Card quality feels so much crapper than the matte embossed card for free accounts.

Nobody gets embossed cards anymore. Standard card has printed numbers on the back.

That’s the point, my current embossed card is valid until 2028. Waste of resources to have the bold coral card issued.

The problem is I tapped yes too quickly and the card has already been sent off. I might just not activate and keep using my current one. :woman_shrugging:t2:

I love these ā€œI did a thing and want someone else to blame for itā€.

You had the option to decline it, but as noted in your other replies you tapped yes for, apparently no reason.

As explained, you don’t need to activate it, though you may receive a prompt asking you to do so.

Also, if you ever did lose your current you’ll automatically have a replacement :call_me_hand:t3:

Nah, I meant complain about the quality of cards from Monzo these days rather than to look for someone to blame for it. Thanks for the assumption.

This has been my experience too. The printing of card details on the back of the card is of exceptionally low quality. Monzo, pay attention!

Initially only some bits were faded, then after a couple of months (and very little actual use) a lot more, then some numbers had faded almost completely.

Then I thought, What the heck? And I tried fading some irregular remaining bits by scratching it with my fingernail, like a scratchcard. And I can confirm everything could be scratched off completely with little to no effort. Now I’ve got a numberless card, as if it was a Chase card!

I’m not kidding! Try it yourself if you’d like. My card was issued about six months ago roughly (would need to check the exact date). I don’t know if all cards issued after that are affected - or how many. But the company that prints the cards for Monzo is doing a very poor job! If I was Trump I’d be suing them already
