Due to the Covid, I can’t get my card and the new card number and activate it now. I may have the new card two months later but at that time, my old card would be expired. Can I still activate my new card in app after the old one has already been expired?

Do you have your new card to hand? You can activate it at any time.
I think what they’re saying is that they won’t be able to get to the new card for a couple of months. I’m making the wild assumption that they are stuck in China and their new card is being posted to their UK address.
For the purpose of the situation, let’s say like @hdwrng mentioned, you’re travelling to a different country today and you’re not back for two months, if your card expires AND a new one is sent while you’re away out of the country you can activate this when you come back yes.
As far as I’m aware there isn’t a ‘expiry date’ on how long you have to activate the card.
I recently activated my Summer Card if that helps.
I was one of the first batch who got them for free on here, so that has been over 2 months if I remember correctly.
