Be part of our cashback pilot šŸŽ‰

I’m in, and my oh my, that’s a seriously impressive list!

Just used it for the first time. Might be worth having a notification to say congratulate the user on using it for the first time and direct them back to the cashback section. I wasn’t sure if it had worked or not as there was no mention in the transaction itself or on the main feed. Even a little icon or something to indicate that cashback has been earned on that transaction might be a nice visual reference.

We did have one but I think we’ve removed it :eyes: there should be a ā€œcashbackā€ title underneath the amount though

I used Flex and the icon isn’t showing on there…

We’ve been sending invites to users on 5.28.0 but we seem to have missed some who are definitely on the right app version  we’re resending missing invites though so you should get one soon :crossed_fingers:

 we automated the invites but not the button which starts the process :see_no_evil: don’t want to code myself out of a job too quickly!

I think I’d find that even more annoying than having to activate the offers. It’s really annoying that Amex do it the same way, you have to look for offers and opt into them.

Just activate them for everyone by defaultm

Hahaha

If anyone successfully filled in the form yesterday but haven’t got Cashback yet, could you please react to this post so me and @iankent can try and help

Please make sure you’re on the most up to date App version

I get what you mean. I have missed out on offers before with AMEX though because I wasn’t aware they had updated the list, so it was more based on that. If the offers refresh each month and you can switch on a notification for when this happens, that would probably be sufficient for me.

I completed the form and my app is up to sate, but no sight of cashback yet.

Thanks

Edit, just appeared now. Cheers

Lots of offers, I wonder if Monzo can give any info on who is funding the offers? Is this the merchant, or a split between Monzo and the merchant? I’m assuming Monzo not funding it themselves…

I’m not on the trial

Am curious what happens when you spend at retailers where you have activated an offer. Do you get a cashback transaction in your current account immediately after the transaction or does it accumulate in a pot for you to manually move to your current account at a time of your choosing? I’d much prefer the latter as I suspect the former will lead to a messy current account feed.

Also, just some feedback on the offers list which was posted in an earlier post. It would be useful if this list could be filtered by type of retailer. For example, if I want to quickly see which restaurants or takeaways are running cashback offers it would be useful to filter the list to see a food & drink category.

That list of retailers looks really good! I can’t wait for the next round of invites/wider rollout!

 We’ve just taken a look at why some users aren’t getting invites and it’s all app version related

You’ll need to be on 5.28 to get the invite and see cashback in-app!

I don’t know and I’d like to, too. Is it just a general bribe (some of the refund amounts are steep though, is that really profitable when you aggregate over all the different deals with different banks?), or is this mostly about them getting access to demographic data about you?

Do you mean this? So what value shows in the feed? Is it the spend amount minus the cashback amount?

Need weatherspoon next month

I’ve never been so jealous of a bank feature … spent Ā£150 in the past week at pets at home as well. Let me into the testing pool :sob:

I don’t think Monzo would be interested in that, they already have all our spending data.

I assume that if they were contributing to the discounts, it would be to see whether the discounts themselves drive greater adoption of Monzo as a main account, therefore increasing interchange and lending possibilities for those customers. A bit like a loss leader.

Whenever I see discounts though I just see a flood of people who will manipulate their spending to max the reward, rather than necessarily switching how they then go on to spend.
