I only opened a virgin money account so I could use their lounge in central London
I have;
HSBC credit card
Chase
Monzo
Starling
NatWest
Wise
Virgin money (though they have threatened to close my account because I don’t use it)
I think that’s it
I wouldn’t clap Apple Pay launching in 2022 guys…
It’s been available for a while now, not sure why they’re only promoting it just now
So I had the pleasure of chatting with Barclays’ digital “assistant”. I wanted help with making a change to my Blue Rewards account as the app wouldn’t let me do it.
Here is the result:
After the third screenshot the discussion just looped back to the beginning, leading into an infinite loop of hellish automation.
The “Evri live chat” is worse for that, it’s literally impossible to speak to anyone about your parcel apart from a bot that just repeats it self
The digital assistant is a nightmare - I usually use the secure email feature available if you login to banking via desktop browser.
Generally with most bot chats just type speak to an agent, it’ll skip all the crap and get you through to someone. That’s all I ever do when I can’t be bothered with the automated stuff.
I always do that, I think it’s only one provider that always says none available, though not sure which.
If you have an iPhone try messaging them on iMessage. They have an official account and I was helped really fast.
A few questions to verify you and I got a reply within the hour:
I don’t understand why barclaycard USA has Google pay and UK doesn’t. Only home grown android app in the UK.
This is an insane amount rage build up. They make it so difficult to get in touch.
Oh, I didn’t know they had Apple business chat! That’s cool. Anyway, I’ll be switching away next week anyway. £150 is too strong an incentive these days.
Doesn’t work with Barclays (at least initially). You can see I tried and it just offered to help, again, asking what I need. Not sure if repeated insistence would have worked, but I gave up at that point.
What do you expect with Hermes?
True. Bad enough finding where they put your parcel, never mind finding someone to help find your parcel.
I’ve been waiting 9 months for a parcel. They refuse to acknowledge its lost. Just keep saying they’ll try to deliver it in 48 hours and even saying that every week since last year.
Luckily it was only a £7 item but it’s still not the point.
On another note. I got something delivered to the locker. Scanned my qr code and someone else’s parcel was in there! It was some foundation instead of my slippers the worst thing was that the address on the parcel wasn’t even in the same town as me or the locker I collected from.
Opened my Sainsbury’s Bank app this morning and up popped the “add to Apple Wallet” page. I’ve been waiting for them to support Apple Pay for ages, so I’m pleased that they’ve finally caught up.
Now added to both iPhone and Watch
That card won’t trouble the card design thread for long
I’m just pleased to have it in my Apple Wallet, regardless of the design
