Barclays Chat

I certainly will! I think I’ll open an account in the next month or so in anticipation of my RBS regular saver filling up (and not wanting to miss the at least £20 joining bonus)

So I noticed that in my HSBC app under credit card I am able to split the payments similar to Flex

Does anyone know of any legacy banks that have implemented the feature of showing accurate direct debit amounts the day before they’re collected? I think I read somewhere that HSBC might have, but I might also have misinterpreted it.

Yes HSBC show the direct debit coming out the day before similar to monzo starling etc

Just out of pure curiosity.

Along with your Barclays account, how many other bank accounts/cards/loans do people have?

3 current accounts
4 credit cards
1 loan
1 mortgage

Edit: never mind, forgot the car, so that’s actually 2 loans/finance agreements

And most of this is with Barclays although looking to switch to FD for their money, even though I prefer to keep number of accounts low

2 current accounts (starling and Monzo)
1 credit card (Amex)
1 mortgage (Halifax)

I was just scrolling some forums before and seeing if there’s a logic in rejections vs closures

What do you mean?

Ie a cap on products elsewhere which would cause rejection, or concern in closing.

Just my mind being overdrive

I think there are people with 10+ current accounts so that shouldn’t be an issue. Having too much available credit and having too low/high utilisation can be an issue with lenders but criteria will vary. Most important thing is a good repayment history

I’m way behind with only 4 current accounts

I’d quite like the Lloyds switching bonus but don’t want to close my HSBC, Monzo or Starling.

Edit: Forgot about Chase

I only have two. Lloyds and Monzo.

I was waiting for my mortgage to be finalised but now I really should take advantage of some sign up/CASS deals.

I’ve too many.

Monzo
Starling
Starling joint
Starling additional (doesn’t overly count)
HSBC
First direct
Lloyds
Virgin Money
Nationwide

Preferably run to keep Starling, Monzo because Flex, and First Direct as their app is, IMO, really nice and sleek, just awaiting spend notifications.

Only the additional £2, as going to move all the bills to it, so all aside the joint account in the same place, and Starling for spending.

I’ve got 11 current accounts but really only use 4 of them -

Monzo
Chase
Santander
Natwest

Chase, Santander and Natwest all provided different cashback schemes.

I’ve got 6 credit cards but only use

Natwest Rewards
NatWest Low Apr or
Tesco Low Apr
Amex

At one point I had 11 but I’ve cut it right down. Again it’s either about the cashback or low cost if I want to spread the cost.
