My app loads, but no data

Eco friendly offload your emissions e-money licensed card/account.
Very basic at the moment. Though if you’re into the eco stuff it could be for you.
Spend money. See your impact on the environment. Subscribe to offload your emissions somehow.

Any existing Blue Rewards customers out there? You can sign up to the new Rainy Day Saver account which pays 5.12% on up to £5000.
That’s £250.17 interest paid after 12 months if you deposited £5000. Not bad at all!

At this rate it won’t be long until many fixed savers are offering at least 5% for 12 months!

It makes sense for existing Blue Rewards customers, but the faff of paying £5 a month, having two DDs to recoup that fiver and also having to pay in £800 every month is too much just to join for the savings interest.

I wonder if they let you pay in directly from any bank account with the sort code and account number, or if they block payments from non-Barclays accounts.

Realistically, they would have to make an effort to block it and reject payments - so they may not have implemented it.

The sort code the account opens at accepts faster payments.
So I got a Barclaycard Avios card for when I travel overseas and they don’t accept Mastercard - there is no way to use this card via mobile apps - their own or google wallet.
Is this 1997?

Barclays are daft for not allowing Google or Samsung Pay for all these years, BUT… you can use your phone to pay with your card via the Barclays app (not sure about the BarclayCARD app).
Assuming you’re talking about Android, in Settings/NFC/Contactless Payments, you can choose either to make Barclays the default NFC payments app, or to pay with whatever app you have open at the time, and then open the Barclays app before you make a payment.
I have not tried it in years because I have Curve on Samsung/Google pay and its default linked card is the Barclaycard, but I remember trying it once and it worked.

No it doesn’t work - it just tells you it is unavailable and just confirmed to me on phone by Barclaycard.

Ooh good to know. I wonder if that was some beta or something when I tried it years ago.
I don’t know the reasoning behind it, but I do know Barclays IT are sticklers for security, so maybe being too cautious once again and not letting their precious cards be put on someone else’s payment platform.
Not sure it’s the best for overseas use as they charge FX fees, unlike the Rewards card.

Well I looked to open an Barclays account to get the 5% and within a few minutes I remember why I left the first time…
Adverts getting in the way of your balance and a ridiculous amount of error codes. I would’ve thought they might have fixed some of them in the last two years.
Probably wait for the card to arrive and use it as a donor account to claim the £150 switching offer with Lloyds

Barclays have some undying hate for me. Not sure why as I recently complaint and they said if I apply there’s no reason I shouldn’t be eligible.
Wonder if it’s my number and/or email address blacklisted somewhere

Nothing in CIFAS or anything else.
NatWest is only a recent thing, but other half has a spotless credit file and they rejected him and he’s done a lot of switches this past 6 months so my theory is they manually check and recognise these to stop people playing the game.
As for Barclays, it’s been an ongoing issue for many many years. Never got to the bottom of it. They gave me £400 compensation some time ago for sending a 4 page complaint in, so that’s something.
Then recently just to follow up. They say I should be good to be accepted. So it doesn’t add up what’s going on
