As iOS 16.5 is likely GA this week… I’ve just installed the dev profile and upgraded to it without issue
Still no? When I was dabbling around a few years back it was “coming soon”
And Final Cut for iPad, Nice.
I may be wrong here, but I’m absolutely convinced when showing off Swift playgrounds and Xcode cloud a few WWDC’s back it was strongly hinted they were looking to bring actual Xcode to the iPad.
That may be it. And I agree with the second point around playgrounds and cloud.
Didn’t really know where else to post this but it appears someone didn’t put a penny in the iCloud meter this morning.
Logged me out across all devices and now won’t accept my email or password. Looking around the internet seems I am not the only one
Yep, Downdetector is showing issues with both iCloud and the Apple Store.
It’s back for me now. Curiously, Apples own status page never went anything other than green
Apple Pay also didn’t work for me earlier
Yeah, I suspected that would be the case. I think I’m so used to seeing chases status being radically transparent that I think other companies should follow suit sometimes.
But I guess changing it to yellow then back to green if it was only five min and taking time to update a page vs fixing the problem is less efficient.
I think this may be the first time, ever, that this has happened. If they do release an update (unlikely) it would be interesting to read.
I must be lucky I am very deep in the apple eco system, possibly too much. I did have an issue with exchange and apple mail at the same time, so I think it was likely an authentication issue in the wider context. Email has been reasonably stable for me.
Thanks for the update, I’ll read that now
Are we expecting any AI/Siri advances this year? Apple are looking increasingly behind the chatgpt/bard technologies.
I always hope but each time I hear rumours about Siri getting smarter its always a massive disappointment sadly.
Slightly off topic but on topic to the conversation before
Edit: I was meant to post the article link, it’s been a long day
Any early adopters interested in the VR/AR headset? I’m intrigued, but if it’s £3,000 as rumoured, then it will have to be something very fun
I couldn’t be any less interested.
It feels like such a niche, relative to your usual Apple scale product.
But I’d love to be surprised.
I tried the PlayStation headset probably 5ish years ago, and it was good for the 10 mins I used it.
But it seems so so niche and I don’t really understand the aim of it. Can it connect to a console for “proper” gaming? The people who’ll pay for one to play AppStore games seems very small.
Give up with this, just make a modern google glass with a head up display, I don’t care about a camera, I just want to be a spy.
Same really… I don’t get it. Which is unusual because Apple’s usual thing is to enter the market slightly late, and present a well engineered solution to a common problem. This time, I don’t see that.
Google Glass, on the other hand, did make sense, though it was clearly an early attempt at a product. But we’re not getting Glass…
Yeah I don’t get it either. Would it be for watching tv on my own and ignoring my husband? Or for playing Apple Arcade games?
I couldn’t use it as a work monitor as our work machines are so locked down they don’t even let us in to the Bluetooth pairing settings.
So I’m lost for a use.
I guess that’s why we await an announcement with case uses!
Oh yeah I agree, plus it might be a lot cheaper than the rumours suggest and therefore worth a chance. But as a usually early adopter I’m not currently hyped.
