Exactly this, so the ones I have to keep an eye on are Mexico, which in the screenshot above it’d be 9:49am of the same day, and Sydney where it’d be 1:49am of the next day. It is confusing till you get used to it, I honestly just love the digital clock at the centre and that I can have 4 complications still around the edge but the dark olive means it doesn’t feel complicated
Good question, I actually haven’t been out of the country since using this face but I’d assume it does to align with the red arrow always pointing to your local time?
Same here. Even to the extent that I have the time twice on there (I have digital time as the top subdial).
I would show a screenshot but apparently screenshots aren’t syncing back to my phone right now.
I haven’t but I have tried the larger ”normal“ Apple Watch and even that feels silly unfortunately.
I wouldn’t want to have two watches and the huge Ultra won’t go with more dainty dresses/smart work stuff.
I am on the Beta software and, when not working, I am using the Snoopy watch face - great fun and totally unprofessional.
So, all the rumours seem to indicate that this year the watch is getting just some very minor upgrades. Possibly a few new colours and a processor upgrade. No changes in the sizes of the watches available.
Next year, which will be the 10th Anniversary though, is when they’re going to do a more major overhaul with the Apple Watch X - including potentially new types of watch straps to reduce the size of the watch itself.
Not clear on X next year. It was announced in 2014 and released in 2015, so could be either.
Hey - so bit of a long shot, but has anyone had an ‘outage’ on their watch today with getting/making calls and getting messages?
Both my partner and I have not been getting text messages over on our watches and we’re on different networks (I’m on EE, he’s on o2). He also uses his a lot for making and receiving phone calls and say that’s not working either.
Other messages (whatsapp, Facebook etc) are fine - it’s just actual ‘standard’ txt messasges/imessages that’s not getting through.
Are you seeing the notifications on your iPhone lock screen? Yesterday I had a couple of text notifications only appear on my iPhone, even though it was locked. I’ve had this with other notifications, too, mainly my Ring doorbell.
I installed watchOS 10 developer beta 7 yesterday evening (along with iOS 17 dev beta 7) and Apple Watch Ultra seems fine. Battery was 100% following installation and now it’s down to 88%, which I think is pretty good. Around the same as watchOS 9 for me.
Everything seems to be working OK - just need to get used to the button changes!
Battery life was very rough the first few betas, but since beta 5 (i think?) it has been steadily getting back to non-beta drain levels.
It took me a while to figure out double tapping the Digital Crown is needed to get to the recent / open app menu. For ages I thought they had just removed the ability…
Speaking of features they’ve removed, I’m kind of annoyed that the night mode is no longer easily accessible. It was something I loved using daily, now I never activate it because it’s hidden in menus and there’s no other way to activate it that I know of
Night mode is automatic now, depending on the ambient light (assuming that you’re referring to the Wayfinder face turning red).
It’s never automatically turned on for me so did some quick research and found that yeah you can set auto in the watch face settings now, never checked there. Thank you! Probably should have just googled it before complaining eh … I guess I would still like to be able to choose to activate it myself without going into settings but I can live with this
I may be following your instructions wrong but putting my watch into sleep focus just turns the screen off where as I’m talking about the all red way finder face
Yes, you get used to just turning the crown. The automatic setting is pretty good, though, and reacts quickly.
watchOS 10 dev beta 8 was released yesterday but I had a few problems installing it. While it was in the “preparing” stage, it kept pausing saying that it would continue when my iPhone was connected to WiFi (which it was). The only way I could get round that was to reboot the phone. On the 3rd attempt it worked.
Anyway, seems very stable and battery life is as good as watchOS 9, still. Currently down to 93% after sleep-tracking overnight and doing an outdoor walk workout this morning.
That seems promising. I’ve completely stopped wearing my Apple Watch since the beta killed the battery to the point where it’d run out after a few hours. Might go back to using it (series 4) on the new beta.
Updated to the new beta’s on iPhone and iPad. Nice. They are both getting towards release (which is no surprise) and very little noticeable bugs.
Hmm… so I see Currys are currently selling off Apple Watch Ultra’s discounted at £669.
Would the Ultra 2 be significantly better next week, or worth picking up a cheap Ultra 1 this weekend…
I think I’m going to go for the ultra 2 if the upgraded processor is a big enough upgrade.
However, I am tempted to buy an ultra 1 and then return if not needed in case the ultra 2 seems too similar.
