It’s just the Liquid Glass look?
It’s not. Look at it compared to the wallet app. It’s much more pronounced and only appeared today after I updated.
Monzo have also chosen to add the Liquid Glass effect directly to the app icon rather than keeping it the same and allowing the OS to apply the effect for some reason
It’s like they’ve baked in some liquid glass effect to the top left and bottom right corners of the icon?
So when the actual liquid glass effect is applied over the top it creates two issues.
-
When the iOS effect appears in the same two corners, the effect is too strong
-
When the iOS effect appears in the opposite two corners, it gives the appearance of the shine appearing in all four corners at the same time
In both cases it looks odd and I have no idea why Monzo would do it.
May make use of this.
I was accepted from 2020 until last year October when they No. I always paid off within 8 months. Probably they didn’t like it.
I will try creation this year.
From what I read, it will be like store credit card. You apply once and get a limit that you re-use over and over again without applying again.
I have tried to see how the application process would be like, it looks like they only want to finance full price.
What do they mean they cannot finance £600?
From what I read (and I could be wrong), you finance full price but trade in then comes off the balance after once complete?
But they won’t let you finance and trade in at same time, so what you are describing can’t happen. What you described is how trade-ins were working previously with Barclays.
May be Creation will do that if trading in a phone previously financed by them and then they put you on the upgrade program.
Another scenario would he to finance fully and the trade in separately for an Apple gift card. I don’t know what I would do with £600+ gift card.
Also some sites say creation at the moment finances £1000+ as minimum if you want 0% offer. So if your trade in and price still above that, they will finance it.
What I will do is apply for the financing when I want, get approved and then not go ahead with the purchase. I should be able to keep my credit line. Then later try a purchase with a trade in and see.
Hoping for an updated Apple TV to replace my aging one.
I used to upgrade iPhone every year. I kept the 14 Pro for 3 years and think I’ll settle on every 2 years now.
I’m still using an M1 Air, it’s fine for what I need.
I have a 17 Pro Max but, by all accounts, the iPhone 18 will be hardly any different so I can’t see myself upgrading this year. My Mac is a Mac Studio M2 with a Studio Display but still a bit too fast for my needs so should last me a few more years ![]()
Also have an M1 MacBook Pro which is still fine for my usage.
I still use the M1 Air as well, it does everything I need so I’ve found no reason to update for now.
I’ve got 2 Mac Minis (2014) running as servers - these were meant to be temporary while I decided what Synology/NAS to get, but they do everything I need for now so they sit in the cupboard purring away.
Got an M1 iPad Pro which I really like and use every day.
iPhone 17 Pro Max which I upgraded from the 16 Pro because I wanted a bigger screen, otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered. Doubt I’ll upgrade this year, although that iPhone fold…. ![]()
You might as well wait now, won’t be too long.
I went from the 14 Pro Max to 16 Pro as I felt the former was a brick and huge.
After a few months I really missed the bigger screen.
The 17PM is still huge and a brick but I go caseless and have apple care now to take some of the weight and bulk off.
Never going back to the smaller phone.
I like the idea of the fold, but the leaks make it look tiny so I’ll probably stick with the 17PM.
Go big or go home ![]()
It’s the M2 Ultra but default spec. It cost enough without adding extra cores!
Bought a 17 Pro Max over the weekend for £900 off a neighbour. Wasn’t really looking to upgrade but seemed sensible for the price.
Have a feeling that this year’s models are going to be largely similar with doing all it can to just keep the price from rising as much as possible.
I think the base Pro missed a trick not having the N1 chip for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0
The new air even has it, I am tempted by the Air as my current macbook pro is a 2013 that is creaking along.
Don’t need it at all but I am tempted to go from M1 Air to M5…
Personally I’d go for the M4. It’s frequently available around the £800 mark. I’ve never seen a Mac be so widely discounted. At the price, the value is incredible. It’s likely to go even lower now the M4 is out.
512gb as standard is appealing. Will see if there’s any good deals about, but tbh would be an entirely frivolous purchase!
