Anime!

Been on my list for a while… Is this the one with the girl and the dog, and it’s supposed to be absolutely heartbreaking?

That’s the one! Inescapable in any fandom meme or 9gag tbh.
This is probably an instance of when you should have used the spoilers feature :eyes:

I honestly don’t know how to use it, otherwise I would  which one should I watch first? X

Anything by Studio Ghibli is perfect.

Full Metal Alchemist is hard to beat in terms of art/ plot/ everything tbh, which one are you comparing it to though?

Is this the right one?

I assumed there was more than one, that’s all I meant!

Added to favourites, thank you

I started off with the manga, but I think Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the version that sticks more closely to the original series. Think that was the 2009 one. I knew of it by Hagane no Renkinjutsushi for ages, so you might want to check!

Recently watched this anime movie and definitely think it is among the best romantic stories I’ve seen in last couple of years :rose:

Love that one! Have you seen Your Name (Kimi no Na wa)? I think it’s right up your alley! Some people were comparing it to Studio Ghlibi, but the director said he still wasn’t happy with its quality. It made me cry!

Yup, absolutely loved Kimi no Na wa, too. Funny story I actually cried watching it on the board of CanadaAir flight back from VC and the stuardess came to check if I am alright and if I would like some more refreshments…

Going to see this at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square on 2nd April, really looking forward to it!

Speaking of the Prince Charles Cinema, they are in the midst of a Studio Ghibli season, at least one a week, usually on Sundays (until May/June). Some Picturehouse cinemas are also showing them at the moment too.

Now that’s a cinema ! Seen a few classics there including Scarface. Love Studio Ghibli so going to check out what’s left of the season there.

You’ll love it! I saw it before it was released in western theatres last year, but I didn’t know they were doing re-runs! Anything from Studio Ghibli is really popular, it’s a shame they don’t think of doing them in cinemas in Manchester? I know the cat cafe has done a couple of film nights though.

@valbg awww! That’s sweet of her. I couldn’t stop crying near the end and I honestly thought it would end badly!

I couldn’t get into full metal alchemist somehow but recently saw the live action version and it explained the story so well I’ll probably go back and rewatch the anime.

Started watching ‘B The Beginning’ which may well turn out to be really good if it keeps going as it has.

Sword Art Online now has a movie… but haven’t had time to watch it yet!

Others I’ve watched recently that I liked

The Seven Deadly Sins
Aldnoah Zero
Magi (several series of that!)
Elfen Lied
Death Note
Saga of Tanya the Evil
The Devil is a Part Timer

you were so right :pensive: not sure if it’s really for me tbh

The chimera ant arc are some of the best episodes of any anime i’ve ever seen. Incredible

In case there are fans of Barakamon, Vol.15 of the tonkobon was published in English yesterday and available for kindle, iBooks, etc.

Have none of you seen psycho pass?!

Also: Thanks for the recommendations. I have a lot to add to my list!

Special thank you to @evangelskies :sunglasses::yum:
