I’ve just cancelled a standing order. I have fingerprint authentication activated, but I was promoted to enter my pin rather than provide my fingerprint.

Was it your phone PIN or card PIN (this is where you find out they are the same

Card PIN.
I don’t think that fingerprint works on Android in every case where a PIN is needed yet. I’ve needed to use a PIN to cancel direct debits because fingerprint isn’t enabled for that yet…
