Does it come in hot coral tho?

If you get TP Link Smart plug alongside the Echo Dot you get it cheaper than just the Dot - £29.29 for both instead of £29.99 for just the Dot!

Gutted I missed this, bought this smart plug earlier!

Can’t you return it and re-order?

Yeah but tbh I don’t really need any more dots

I also did this. I don’t think it’s intended so orders may be cancelled. I think they should have turned off the normal deal of saving Ā£10 when buying both together, in favour of the Prime Day deals.

So I have done 2 more Hue Bulbs from the link above and these, they will go in the front room either side of the TV

Ah, well fingers crossed it’ll work, will have to wait and see…

Yeah, seems to have gone through. As people can only buy 1 at that price (I think), Amazon probably won’t notice

Side Note: I wonder how many Amazon Payments Monzo processed today

The Huawei laptop deal looks amazing. It’s a shame the surface hasn’t been updated to 8th gen cpus.

All those deals are amazing and the reason is tax avoidance :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

High street is officially dead, our government is officially in the pocket of big corporations. Nothing new :smirk:

I mean people choose to bank with Monzo because they behave ethically towards their customers and employees. How come the same people don’t see a problem while buying from Amazon?

To be fair there are a lot more reasons for that than just Amazon but I agree they aren’t a very ethical company

It’s tricky - I value:

• Customer Service
• Good Pricing
• Ease of return
• Ease of purchase

Amazon do this far better than any high street store I’ve purchased from!

All that, and I don’t doubt that factory workers elsewhere are also getting the short end of the stick for fast fashion brands like H&M, Topshop, Primark, or even Apple etc. I heard Amazon just puts a ton of money back into the company so their profit isn’t that high and it’s the profits that are taxed. I think it was a US article tho.

Personally ethics wouldn’t be a major deciding factor for me unless the bank was MAJOR skeevy/ the CEO/bank made a disgusting statement or action that would negatively impact a lot of people. If I was choosing between two comparatively similar products though, then I might spring for a more ethical company/ upholds the sort of values I believe in

Maybe my assumtion that people who bank with Monzo chose it for their ethical policies was wrong.

It could be that they bank with Monzo because its efficient, the app looks good and other reasons.

Edit: As for Amozon putting money back in the company it is pure tax avoidance scheme engineered by the best tax advisors in the world. If that was the case people in their distribution centres would be treated with dignity. Most of them are immigrants so people just don’t care.

Has anyone else noticed that you have to be increasingly aware of who you are actually buying from via amazon? So many of the FBA (Fulfilment By Amazon) vendors are selling poor quality imports.

My big reason for using amazon is all of what you’ve listed above but also because it doesn’t take between 5-7 days to get something that’s not currently in stock. When the high street can match next day delivery as some stores already do, then i’d be more willing to spend my money with them

Same day delivery is a big winner in my book!

Amazon Warehouse is also good for a bargain!

There are things I buy from Amazon… and there are things I don’t.

Large electrical goods (TV’s, Fridges, washing machines)… generally from John Lewis or in some instances Costco.

Everything else… Amazon, unless I find it cheaper elsewhere.
