Adding notes to transactions

When I withdraw £50 from my Car Maintenance pot it disappears from the pot and goes into the account balance. So I can remember why I transferred this money I put a comment on the transaction in the account. Why can’t this comment also show up on the other side of this same transaction i.e. the entry in the pot?

I often go through pots to see what money is being used for but I can never find out without looking at the date on the transaction in the pot and then locate the transaction in the account, which could be many months ago, just to look at the note. It’s the same transaction!

Hi @Peterkins & welcome

It used to behave this way (the same single-entered note/tag was used on the outgoing pot transaction and the corresponding incoming main account transaction - and vice-versa) but then regulations kicked in with statements needing to show pots separately, so the linked transactions were ‘uncoupled’. So now you have to enter a note on both sides, or at least enter one and copy&paste it to the other.

I have this issue as well. Not sure what the reason is but there must be a workaround surely. When I look at my Monza app I would like to see for every transaction the description showing me what it was for. Pretty much impossible to keep track of income and outgoings without this feature. I’ve resorted to adding to a spreadsheet which kind of defeats the object.
