A sneak peek at an upcoming campaign for the new Monzo

Marketing Bollocks?

I’m sorry I’m not selling my balls however much I love Monzo.

Hope that’s not the new feature.

Can you lock a pot and still pay direct debits and standing orders from it?

My problem (or advantage) is I get a free Lloyds Gold Account as I’ve had it since it started and they haven’t imposed charges.

So I get travel insurance, mobile insurance and Aa recovery with my Lloyds account.

Monzo is much better but I’ll not swap entirely as I’d loose those benefits.

Unless the secret feature is to match any benefits offered by legacy banks?

The only reason to have Barclays is to pay my Barclays home insurance and cash deposits are free at both Barclays and post office and I can transfer instantly to monzo no other reason to have it but it’s a handy back up though I do everything monzo now so happy it’s changed a lot cause it’s now looking more promising

Hopefully secret feature is dark mode. The new UI seems to make applying a dark mode simple. I’ve noticed Facebook and google play store have made UI updates with a similar clean white style without coloured bars at the top, I’ve assumed this in preparation for applying dark mode in andriod 10. Finally after 7 years andriod and apple are catching up with windows phone and getting dark modes lol.

If it’s not the ability to edit payees (names, photo etc) and delete Monzo users from my payees then what’s the point. No brainer. Dark mode would be nice too.

That’s a shame, because automatically assigning money to the bills pot at the beginning of the month is a pretty critical feature for bills pots…

I don’t think anybody had said that before I made that post

Ah. Perhaps the lack of said feature was why the (staff only) V1 of bills pots was shelved?

How can you assign automatically money to fall inside when it’s paid like your paid every week by faster payment for same amount have that moved in to the bills pot straight away when it comes in but being mindful of bank holidays not all banks pay standing orders on a bank holiday and normally delay them one or a few days depending on what day and what holiday is covered so would the faster payment go straight in to the bills pot and you have to set payments up to come out bills pots so that you never forget to pay the money in to the bills pot

William, as others have previously pointed out, punctuation is a useful thing.

I would imagine that this would only cover BACS credits but as it hadn’t been launched yet I am just speculating there are no bank holidays until after Christmas at this stage so you could do a scheduled payment into a pot until then and cancel it before the next bank holiday

If there isn’t enough money in your bills pot, it’ll take the money from your main account. Forgetting to top up the bills pot simply muddies your transaction history, rather than causes payments to be rejected.

Everything is simple and easy to use, however, bill pots are a minefield. I think they could be better explained to users. I had to come to the forum to see how they work. I think you could do better to explain this.

For me, Monzo has turned a boring necessity—banking—into something that holds my interest. I cheque my Monzo account more in a day than I did my Lloyds in a month. Because transactional feedback is instant. I take an interest in my bank now; where my money is and how it’s working for me.

I’ve sorted my bills, my savings, my debts all in one hub. It’s brilliant.

I see what you did there…

Do we have an idea when these things are being released? #impatient

Version 3 should hit the App Store next week, if what I have seen in the new UI thread is correct.

I note the new press release regarding v3.0 mentions they are looking into rearranging pot orders and hinding pots, so presumably that for the future and isn’t the secret feature.

Maybe it’s having intergrated IFTTT options from within the Monzo app much like how Dozens do?

Or separate Euro account like Revolute

Or maybe it’s just the relocation of pulse graph to the summary page!

I’ve updated to Monzo 3.0.0 (iOS) this morning but what new features were released?
