Normal credit cards donāt offer the 3 months interest free, which is the whole point of Flex (for me).
And thereās a huge range between Ā£250 and Ā£5k.

No I know but they offer 18mths interest free etc, people use products differently and Iām just one person hence Iām interested but for larger purchases and stuff Iād use the credit card (usually cause I donāt plan on paying it off in 3 months)
Flex I tend to just whack last minute little things on - like I am awful at remembering peopleās birthdays so its always handy to get bits on and then pay it off at the end of the month
Fair point. But Ā£250 is just near useless. Wasnāt even close to covering the washing machine we bought last month.
Yes please!!
Back in the early days of Monzo the app was much simpler (given fewer features and what not) - Iām beginning to find the app has too much in it for me to reliably find All The Things - a web layout would be super handy.
You know at times when you need the Big Internet to do Big Jobs⦠Iād like that for Monzo eventuallyā¦.
I realise that probably puts me in a particular generational bracket having said thatā¦.
</get off my lawn etc>
We love a NIMBY.
From Monzo: Joint account parity (for everything)
From the forum: The ability to see only posts from folks who work at Monzo (nothing personal I just donāt always have the time to read and scroll through everything).
Yep. I try every so often and never get any joy.
Would love to know if people who arenāt full Monzo have had much joy.
One thing Iāve been pondering⦠Forum Meet Up!
Not sure if thatās āfunā or ātoo muchā.
Obviously with masks as avatars for privacy.
Iād like that like the old days. Recall having a few beers in the summer sun near Old Street with some early Mondo users.
Monzo Pride meet up was fun.
Iād like to see shared pots happen this year ![]()
Travel and stay to walk the monzo merch ![]()

Iām not āfull Monzoā (in that my salary isnāt paid into my Monzo account. In fact my salary gets paid in USD into my US account and I send the majority of it over here via Wise each month) but I do have Perks, Flex, a Joint Account with my wife and two U16 accounts⦠My Flex limit was recently increased from the starting Ā£1,750 to Ā£2,500
In terms of products, one thing Iād very much welcome would be a āRegular Saverā with a competitive - preferably fixed for a year - rate of interest.
Principality Building Society offers a 6-month RS, which I believe has been very popular.
As for the forum, Iām short of ideas this morning but there is absolutely one thing I would NOT wish to lose and that is the quite unique engagement with the forum by Monzo staff, whether it be things like this thread, the various precis weāre given on how things operate or just the introductions to themselves.
Whatever the odd grumble that may arise now and again, this is a thing to be cherished.
One thing iāve always thought was quite unsettling about the Monzo app is that there isnāt a loading screen⦠Just face ID and your IMMEDIATELY in.
Might just be me but a quick little animation welcoming me and asking for my face id like the other banks would be so nice.
Take Santander for example, a nice little welcome āHello, Spencer!ā and a lovely picture behindā¦
Although, still keep it snappy like now. If you know what I mean.
Immediately in for me ![]()

Thatās a terrible idea and donāt start the whole security debacle off again ![]()
My yellow Monzo card expires this summer soā¦
Coloured Monzo cards for summer 2025 please ![]()
Absolutely not. Itās already cluttered and colourful as it is hence no longer a user.
I disagree. If theyāre in your phone theyāre in your banking apps.
You canāt send payments unless you Face ID or PIN (I think).
Just adds friction IMO.
HSBC for example; it annoys me it doesnāt auto log in and you have to tap login.
Not when you just wanna log into the app.
Revolut and Starling outperform Monzo (IMO) with general functionality (bills from Pockets/Spaces), free virtual cards as standard, less clutter around the app.
Some would argue Revolut is cluttered but Iāve used it so long to just ignore what I donāt need.
If Monzo ever tone down their app and aim for less fun and funky, I could go back, but they wonāt as thatās their business model.
