So Google has at long last started their rollout of new services. I’m guessing, as YouTube Red/ Google Play Music subscriber, I’m rolled into them automatically, but there’s probably still geolocks and that sort of stuff.
Not sure what the changes are, but I’ve already seen that, as a songwriter, videos containing my music are actually labelled with proper credits now, so that’s good.
YouTube Music apparently will now have a desktop player app, as it’ll be in direct competition with Spotify, so I’m looking forward to checking that out!
It’s also coming soon to new markets: Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Google Play Music is my streaming service of choice, so I’m not feeling this hybrid YouTube/Play music mash up. YouTube is known for video so why add a streaming service known for just audio onto it? Really strange.
Current YouTube Red and Google Play Music members (including family plans) in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico will automatically receive access to YouTube Premium at their current price. Google Play Music subscribers in some other countries will automatically receive access to YouTube Music Premium at their current price as it becomes available there.
Just downloaded to try en-route home. Now I just need someone to go through and like all the same songs as I have on Google Play Music so my Thumbs Up playlist is on both
