YouTube Music & YouTube Premium

So Google has at long last started their rollout of new services. I’m guessing, as YouTube Red/ Google Play Music subscriber, I’m rolled into them automatically, but there’s probably still geolocks and that sort of stuff.

Not sure what the changes are, but I’ve already seen that, as a songwriter, videos containing my music are actually labelled with proper credits now, so that’s good.

YouTube Music apparently will now have a desktop player app, as it’ll be in direct competition with Spotify, so I’m looking forward to checking that out!

Introducing YouTube Premium

It’s also coming soon to new markets: Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Google proves yet again they can’t keep a product going for long. See also their countless attempts at messaging apps.

They have going for sometime now

Huh. Well I hope it helps improve Google Play Music somehow. Particularly in the recommendation aspect and curated playlists.

Reviews seem good!

How much do you wanna bet it’s going to be renamed or nixed in a year or so? :joy::joy:

So what’s your band called or you yourself if you call yourself something different? Let’s hear some of your stuff. :slightly_smiling_face:

Google Play Music is my streaming service of choice, so I’m not feeling this hybrid YouTube/Play music mash up. YouTube is known for video so why add a streaming service known for just audio onto it? Really strange.

I posted one of our recent music videos in this thread

Can I use this if I have Google play music? Or is it a separate thing.

Or will they just use this to improve Google play music?

You can use it as well, I downloaded YTM and it just asked me to login…

When I go to it says I have an individual license that’s billed through GPM…

Their taking the pee!

Current YouTube Red and Google Play Music members (including family plans) in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico will automatically receive access to YouTube Premium at their current price. Google Play Music subscribers in some other countries will automatically receive access to YouTube Music Premium at their current price as it becomes available there.

The UK gets shafted again. Pay more get nothing!

Lol @ bit rate of 128. You must be joking.

Just downloaded to try en-route home. Now I just need someone to go through and like all the same songs as I have on Google Play Music so my Thumbs Up playlist is on both
