Wrong/incorrect transaction shown - money disappeared from monzo account

It’s peak period at the moment so COPs will respond to your issue as quickly as possible

I thought the ATM message was triggered by the BIN (four or six digits at the start of the long card number) as this was, apparently, allocated to a Danish bank before :monzo: Monzo, meaning the ATM wrongly assumes it’s dealing with a foreign card. Is the lack of Link support the correct reason, then?

Thanks, someone did finally reply, you work for Customer Operations team of Monzo, don’t you?

Could really be either, depending on how the ATM is programmed. A foreign card wouldn’t necessarily mean fees, nor would a MasterCard. One thing hinting it’s MasterCard, is I’ve seen reports on here of Starling cards doing the same thing.

P.S. Another list of reasons to be pretty sure it’s the MasterCard AID and nothing to do with it thinking it’s a foreign card, is that:

  1. No DCC offer is made despite being sketchy supermarket ATMs.
  2. The chip application says the country and currency, guessing from the BIN is old magstripe-era stuff.
