Wiki: Current Account Switching Incentives šŸ’ø

Don’t forget anyone switching with Co-Op that you need to fill in the refer form by tomorrow.

Casually seen this, first direct took someone’s switch bonus back, potentially (not clear) due to switching away so soon.

Yeah I’d never even heard of it happening before to be fair.

It’s probably unrelated and said person maybe acted out of appetite and they decided to no longer want them as a customer/terms broken.

Random question, are these switching incentives taxable? Surely not supposed to fill in a self-assessment for them?

Covered further back in the thread - no, they are not taxable :slightly_smiling_face:

No drama, not your fault!

Mine completed around lunchtime I think. I had a text a week before to tell me it was going through.

Have you had anything from the bank you’re switching from? Strikes and Christmas won’t help the postal part of it, I got letters from Nationwide about switching and they arrived after the switch completed. The card was slow too.

I got the Co-op welcome letter, then the card, then the PIN all arriving one day apart.

Had zero texts and emails about the switch. I have a screenshot of it picking the earliest 10th Jan, but if I didn’t there’s nothing I can find to say that is the date.

Is your Co-Op account open at least?

I’m guessing there was no sign of the switch in the end?

How strange that it seems to just be lost into the void and it’s the same for @phildawson by the looks of it.

Mine is meant to be in a week time so I’m not concerned but I have just sent a message via the online version (cant do it via app :see_no_evil:) to confirm it. Replies are aimed to be replied in 24hrs so I might find out the answer tomorrow.

Yeah five days in app. Looks like they couldn’t be bother to implement chat inside the app.

The browser version has it as 24hr, can’t see my message sent until they reply once to it.

The whole experience is pure garbage

:triumph: :rage: :exploding_head:

I just wanted a yes that’s the date, or the date is x

Also the jankyness of the messaging system looks like they replied same minute.

@michaelw90 just had a call, they have absolutely nothing on their system to say I chose the option to switch.

I’ve actually got the screenshot after you put in your details to switch and it gives you date. I offered to send it and they said not yet but we might need that.

They are going to investigate and call me back.

You might want to call them up and shout at them

Uh-oh, my partner’s switch was supposed to complete yesterday but he hasn’t heard anything at all so I wonder if it is the same issue. I assumed this was normal as I didn’t receive anything from the Co-op until after my switch had been completed (it was completed on the ā€œearliest dateā€ that I had been told it would).

I wonder if this is because they are completing after their ā€œendā€ date of 30/12?

Just had my second callback, their investigation came up with nothing. :man_facepalming:

Anyway they said they’ll honour it and CASSed on the phone and they resubmitted the form to claim the bribe with the new switch date.

16th to complete, they did say it may be paid on the 17th but they said it’s within 60 days in their terms.

Fingers crossed! What a mess though, I wonder what happened that’s caused it to break for everyone.

We need some new incentives too, I want to move on from Co-Op!

Never heard of them!

Thanks for the heads-up, will get him to call ASAP! I don’t understand how they have completely lost all of these requests to switch?!
