When will I get paid in late December 2020 / early January 2021 using :monzo:?

Here is a breakdown of the possible pay dates for incoming BACS and Faster Payments receipts into :monzo: personal bank accounts over the 2020 Xmas period - noting that employers may choose to pay salaries earlier than normal at this time of year.

For salary/incoming payments via BACS (where the incoming transaction usually shows in advance as a greyed-out transaction in the feed) and also using the Paid Early feature:

  • Usually paid on 21-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 18-Dec

  • Usually paid on 29-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 30-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 29-Dec

  • Usually paid on 04-Jan, claim early @ 4pm on 31-Dec

For salary/incoming payments via Faster Payments (where the incoming transaction is usually received without any prior notification):

  • Usually paid on 21-Dec, should be received on 21-Dec
  • Usually paid on 22-Dec, should be received on 22-Dec
  • Usually paid on 23-Dec, should be received on 23-Dec
  • Usually paid on 24-Dec, should be received on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 25-Dec, should be received on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 26-Dec, should be received on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 27-Dec, should be received on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 28-Dec, should be received on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 29-Dec, should be received on 29-Dec
  • Usually paid on 30-Dec, should be received on 30-Dec
  • Usually paid on 31-Dec, should be received on 31-Dec
  • Usually paid on 01-Jan, should be received on 31-Dec
  • Usually paid on 02-Jan, should be received on 31-Dec
  • Usually paid on 03-Jan, should be received on 31-Dec
  • Usually paid on 04-Jan, should be received on 04-Jan
  • Usually paid on 05-Jan, should be received on 05-Jan

The above is based on Friday 25-Dec being Xmas day (a Bank holiday) and Monday 28-Dec being used as a substitute Bank holiday because Boxing Day falls on the weekend.

That’s some effort you’ve put it

Not wanting to put a downer on it but if people can’t understand that it’s paid the working day before, then it’s unlikely that they’ll search to find this :speak_no_evil:

I think a mod should pin this. There’s going to be a lot of “when will I get paid” posts over the holidays.

Unless they pin it to a newbies head they are still going to post to ask

Yeah but we can just link to this thread

Don’t people’s employers provide a payroll update whether it be via text or email stating the pay date? That’s what’s happened in our case, get paid on the 21st rather than the 26th (those extra 4 days are gonna be a killer when it comes to waiting for January’s payday hahah)

Always been wage payed since I left school so I’ve never had a early payday at Christmas.

I’m 4 weekly paid but my Christmas Eve payment along with January will be large due to Christmas rush overtime in the company I work for so I have that to look forward to.

And in my experience to then see that most of it has been wiped out with tax :see_no_evil:

Teachers get paid on 20th of the month by BACs in my area.

  • Usually paid on 20-Dec, should be received on 18-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 17-Dec

Yes most employers do. I know I’m getting paid on 21st Dec, which would be 18th Dec with pay a day early

Yep one of my paydays is Boxing Day and the other one New Year’s Eve both employers have said when they’ll be releasing the payments for as they’re both doing it earlier this year
