When Will I Get Paid? - Christmas 2024/January 2025

Here is a breakdown of the possible pay dates for incoming BACS and Faster Payments receipts into :monzo: bank accounts over the 2024 Xmas period - noting that employers may choose to pay salaries earlier than normal at this time of year and that the Paid Early feature remains operational:

For salary/incoming payments via BACS (where the incoming transaction usually shows in advance as a greyed-out transaction in the feed) and also using the Paid Early feature:

  • Usually paid on 20-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 19-Dec
  • Usually paid on 21-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 19-Dec
  • Usually paid on 22-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 19-Dec
  • Usually paid on 23-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 20-Dec
  • Usually paid on 24-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 23-Dec
  • Usually paid on 25-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 26-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 27-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 28-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 29-Dec, claim early @ 4pm on 24-Dec :santa:

  • Usually paid on 23-Dec, should be received on 23-Dec

  • Usually paid on 26-Dec, should be received on 24-Dec :santa:
  • Usually paid on 27-Dec, should be received on 27-Dec

  • Usually paid on 29-Dec, should be received on 27-Dec
  • Usually paid on 30-Dec, should be received on 30-Dec

The above is based on Wednesday 25-Dec being Xmas day, Thursday 26-Dec being Boxing Day and Wednesday 01-Jan being New Years Day. Thursday 02-Jan is a bank holiday in Scotland, but Monzo doesn’t observe Scottish BH’s?

Much less dramatic since they moved us from the 27th to the 15th a few years ago, but also makes the January pay date seem less like it is always seven weeks off

I have been given conflicting info regarding the get paid early feature, I also get paid on the 27th December so can somebody confirm that I will be able to get paid early after 4pm on Christmas eve please?

Live chat AI agent told me that the 24th December is outside of the BACS processing period and also a live chat agent gave me a vague answer and for me to try asking my employer/merchant to pay me early which I can’t do!.

As per the opening post of this thread:

  • If paid via BACS for 27-Dec, you’ll see it as a greyed-out incoming transaction in the feed during the morning of 24-Dec and can claim it early from 4pm on 24-Dec

  • If paid via Faster payments, you’ll receive it at some point without advanced notice on 27-Dec

I actually get paid a week early. Officially tomorrow, but the 4pm Tuesday notification hasn’t appeared in the app. Any idea why?

Could the company perhaps be sending it manually via faster payments? Mine is tomorrow too and I have the pay early notification now.

You’re either not getting paid or not getting paid via BACS.

Hi i get paid bacs 30th of each month so normaly get it 4pm the 27th will it be the 27th this month or wjll it change due to christmas

Any wages arriving 25th-29th should now be showing in the :monzooo: app.

But only :point_up: if you are paid via BACS

(Faster payments will arrive without notification when the sender submits the transfer)
