This assumes that the employer/payroll company doesn’t process payments during bank holidays and pulls them forward. The Faster Payments system operates as normal over bank holidays
I hadn’t even thought about this. I get paid four-weekly and am due for the 4th Jan. Claiming on the 31st will make December’s pay have no outgoings
Time to buy all the Baileys I can find
Thanks for the consideration.
I did think about that but couldn’t explain it simply in the post. So I went with the belief that very few employers are likely to pay employees on Xmas Day, Boxing Day (Saturday) or the substitute Boxing Day bank holiday (Monday) via Faster Payments, and intentionally left it out for simplicity
Even more of a killer if you take it at 4pm on the 18th
I’m usually paid on 20th but they told us its 17th this year so I’ll have it 16th… its gonna be a long January
I’ve made a hidden pot and when my super early salary arrives I’m moving it there until actual payday It’s the only way I can stop myself spending it all while drunk on Baileys.
Mine did. They sent out an email to say December pay on 21st, not the usual 28th.
I actually prefer this! Means less chance of me going overboard in December, and leaving myself short in Jan
Also love that this topic is now pinned.
Definitely in favour of reccuring threads being pinned in their respective categories
Thankyou
When will I, will I be paid?
I can’t answer, I can’t answer that.
(if that’s stuck in your head now, you’re welcome!)
We owe you nothing
It is good
