What’s your financial set up?

You can. Use faster payment option it won’t be rejected. Then it will throw your balance in positives. Some lenders will then immediately email or send letter in the post on what you can do with the over payment; things like spending on the card or asking to have it refunded to bring you to zero.

Well yes, you can do that, but you shouldn’t. If it’s just a one off you might get away with it, but if you do it regularly they might well cancel your card.

I guess if done to have a pseudo higher limit.

I did a good few years ago, moving back initially to NatWest around 2020 when I wasn’t sure Monzo was going to make it then FD, HSBC, Lloyds, HSBC.

Mainly because the app features got to a level I was ok with and more importantly in the case of FD/HSBC the customer service was significantly better.

I don’t think I’ll ever go back now. It’s still a good product (Monzo) but not for me.

Should get the bonus if it’s still going :tada:

If £1k moved via CASS you’re fine.

Get monzo binned. Just use credit karma for your trans union score

If Nationwide have already been notified of it, then they’ll set it up, so cancelling it at Starling’s end won’t work. You’ll need to wait till it’s shown on your Nationwide account and cancel it from there.

If the car finance company haven’t called on it recently, though, it’s as good as cancelled anyway.

I actually don’t mind the Nationwide app but no notifications is not for me.

Both of those would be deal breakers for me.

The not seeing any direct debits before they land would just cause me anxiety and stress.

I really like Nationwide but until they resolve those two things, I couldn’t go back to them.

This. Lloyds has been frustrating to say the least.

Might do a partial switch to HSBC or something to alleviate that :joy:

Or does anyone know if Barclays give any indication the day before, even just the amount in calendar view?

That’s fair enough, it’s a personal preference.

@Carlo1460 HSBC does display information but sometimes it’s only a day out before the direct debit. I think balance forecast is one of the most useful features on HSBC
