What is the add contact button for in the app?

20190403_133130What is this supposed to do? When I press it, it just takes me to my default contacts app to make a regular phone contact??:face_with_raised_eyebrow:. I want to add a new payee, how do I do that?

To add a new payee, there should be a PAY button/option as one of the main options on that screen?

  • Move Money

I know there is a pay button, but I what I want to do is add a new contact.
Plus I really want to know what they button is for. Why would I want to add a new phone number through my Monzo app?

I have said the same thing if u could add payee details would make sense

I think it was way back when you could only “pay” other Monzo users and so adding a “contact” was the only way to do it - as the accounts are registered to mobile numbers.

I think currently the only way to add a payee, is to pay them then they get added in.

Yeah… I mean I get it as you can still find out if a new friend’s mobile has Monzo if you just add them, but you’d do it through contacts anyway.
