I originally worded it as a poor man’s Force Awakens .
I meant that it is to Gladiator as Force Awakens is to New Hope.

The original movie was fairly groundbreaking at the time too - with most of it filmed on digital video.
The trailer is really good for this new one. I’m excited.
Shot on an iPhone with about $250,00 worth of glass
Violent Night - Netflix.
What an absolute crock of .
Doesn’t help John Leguizamo sounds alike Trump at times.
This turned out to be alright.
It was definitely better than my pretty low expectations going in.
But I still think that these movies have lost their soul in the switch to CGI realism from expressive animation.
Cartoon dancing lions work in a way that real ones just fall flat.
They totally ruined lion king and Aladdin with the remakes
Not sure about this. I quite enjoyed Luck, but was left pretty flat by Spellbound. I’d say that The Wild Robot was far and away the best “Pixar” movie of the (last few) years.
Completely lacked any of the original’s magic. But it’s gone gangbusters at the box office, so perhaps they don’t care .
Going by my kids at least, I would guess that Sonic is just far more relevant to this generation than The Lion King. It wouldn’t suprise me at all if it completlely smokes the Christmas box office.
I only ever seem to like the Lin Manuel Miranda ones, that guy knows how to write a song. I’ll watch Mufasa because of him, even though I vastly prefer animation to ‘live action’.
I think I’d go Encanto (for the soundtrack), but Moana is a close second.
This.
I didn’t watch the first movie until shortly before the second came out just as something to pass time, and when I did I was really taken by surprise at how much I enjoyed it.
And thank god for them listening to the public backlash they had with regards to that original abomination of a design they ran with (get it, ran… sonic… ba dum ts)
Ended up seeing the second in the cinema and been looking forward to the third as well.
What makes you think that, I think it was genuinely what they intended to put out
They’d have spent millions on promo just to pull it back and delay the movie
Just watched it last night and it was actually pretty good.
The only thing that’s annoying is the violence could have been taken down a notch like the snowmen with ice machetes and taken out the unnecessary swears and it could have been a PG.
Sonic was fine. Pretty much exactly what it says on the time.
The kids loved it, I didn’t hate it.
Over one a day is really good going. Do you also watch much TV or game?
Anora wa my favourite 2024 film by some way. Then maybe Dune 2.
The substance I thought was okay with some issues with pacing. Emilia Perez and Conclave were both good but a bit silly.
It hasn’t been the strongest film year. Wonder what the Oscar’s will look like.
To be honest my love for the books was probably a bigger factor than how good the movie was. I saw it in IMAX and then watched it again at home and it was much less compelling on a small screen.
I did see Nosferatu yesterday. Maybe not Egger’s best but a very enjoyable and fully classical gothic horror flic.
