We're working on a new look for the Monzo app

Have I missed something, or is there no longer a total balance, but now a card balance and separate pots balances? I often want to know what I have in Monzo overall, and it was available in the previous UI.

Mine shows on android at the very top when I click on ‘view all’

My main issue now is that I can use the main view for everything I want, but it doesnt tell me everything I want in the priority I want it.

I used summary as my main view as that big figure at the top was the most important to me.

now the big figure at the top of my main view isn’t important to me and throws me off every time I look at it and I have to hunt for the small summary figure. I guess this is similar to what you were saying @bruno When you said you were looking at it on the bus. All the info is there now which is great (most of the info at least thats important to me) but not quite in the right order.

When I hit ‘View All’ (iOS) I see the value in each pot. But I can’t see what’s in my ‘Personal Account’ and I can’t see a total of every £ I have in Monzo without having to do some mental arithmetic

Summary on iOS! Woohoooo

Although it crashes when I click it sometimes

On the latest iOS Testflight (2.45.0) and the incorrect pots total issue still exists.

I also echo a few others and say the budget bar should be allowed to be removed please

Got a screenshot? Mine looks like this on Android. Pots total above the pots and total total at the very top:

I was about to post the same screenshot from my Android app.

On Android, there’s “Total balance” on the View All screen.

So… iOS now has the “left to spend” tab fixed at the top (which leads through to summary).

Can I just say… I hate it.

I don’t use summary, and the fact I now have an irrelevant bar taking up space is just annoying.

Is there ever going to be an option to remove/disable summary so I don’t see this @bruno?

Generally, I like the feel of the new layout - Although the entire Payments tab needs a re think IMO…

iOS 2.45 beta with summary back. Same crashing as @TheStrider noticed above.

Two things.

We still have percentage on iOS as opposed to the actual £ figure left to spend shown on android. I thought this was going to be the same for iOS, will it be soon?

Second one is that I’m fairly sure my budget bar is going the wrong way on the home screen? I’ve spent 66% but it appears to be 66% full, rather than 34%. image

Android has % too. You get % if you’ve set a monthly budget, £ if you haven’t

Have a look at my post to see:

If you have seta budget you get % but if you haven’t you have £ (from what I can tell).

EDIT: @adinus beat me to it!

I think this is the way Summary has always shown you visual information (with the categories “filling up” when you spend within them).

Love the new iOS TestFlight. Personally, I really like the left to spend bar (however, I’m sure that Monzo could build in an option to hide it in settings). The only thing I don’t like about the spend bar is that if you set an overall budget for the month, the spend bar only shows the % spent of your budget, not the amount left (which surely is the most important figure).

Ah yeah that’s definitely missing some important information!

I really like the new budget bar at the top of the feed. One thing that I’d change is when you tap the budget bar, you’ve then got Budgets at the top left, and Close at the top right, and when you click Budgets, you get Cancel at the top left, and Done at the to right. It feels disjointed. I think that Cancel/Close options should always be at the one side, with Done/Confirm/progression options should be at the other.

Hey @oliverdunk  I feel the pain, the threshold for the Timeline drawer is not there yet. We’ll be tweaking it until we get something that feels natural. It’s not the highest priority right now but we’ll get there :+1:

Regarding power options customising the look, this is not something we’d consider just yet. If it’s not working for a lot of people then maybe it’s something we should fix instead of giving more toggles in Settings.

Lovely to have Summary back, and the shortcut to it on the home screen is delightful. Investec pots still not showing interest though

This is very interesting, thanks @joedmitchell

If I understand correctly, having the budgeting widget on the Home screen is worse than having the same info in Summary, because in the Summary screen the key information for you (Left to Spend) was the biggest number on the screen. Is that right?

I’ve been using the new layout on both iOS and Android for a few days now, so some observations

Some of these may already have been posted, but there’s over 600 replies to this thread and I’m not reading them all :joy:

Inconsistency between apps

On iOS, the profile image/link is on the left corner, on Android it’s on the right… can we get some consistency here…?

General observations

I do like the new layout. It works well, and there’s less taps required to get to all the relevant information (though I do have to stretch my hand to get to pots now, but that’s more an issue with the size of my phone).

Issues

When navigating to a transaction, the up button shows the account balance. This was fixed in the just released TF version :+1:

You should be able to drag down the transaction list by scrolling down, right now it just shows the end-of-list bounce animation. This actually works as expected in the Android version.

Also, I’ve noticed that the balance doesn’t seem to want to update - I had to close and re-open the app to get a refreshed balance.
