We're working on a new look for the Monzo app

Clicking on a ‘open regular/savings pot’ from the View All section takes ~9 seconds to load. Definitely a lot slower on 2.61 iOS than previous versions.

It’s a feature to let you think about if you really need to access the money in that pot

Switched back to old and must admit, I love having summary on the main navigation.

Forcing the budget under the balance will be a big issue for me, I keep all my money in pots til I need it and don’t want to be constantly told I’ll run out of money when I know I won’t, the budgets tab isn’t fit for purpose when you utilise pots as it doesn’t take these into account, at least have an option to disable it under the balance

Hi Steve & welcome

I personally use that indicator several times a day and find it invaluable, but given how you organise your finance workflow, I appreciate it is an unused feature. Optional would be good.

I’ve been using the new navigation for the past couple of months (currently iOS 2.61.0) and it seems to be getting less and less polished and more buggy. I know that there’s a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes but I think everyone needs to take a step back and slow down.

I’ve encountered the following bugs (with the current version):

  • Swiping between cards/pots isn’t a smooth animation
  • Selecting a card/pot sometimes puts the card in front of the feed
  • The feed is regularly blank (completely white) for a few seconds - I don’t know if it’s loading or what it’s doing. I’ve even had to force restart the app a few times.

From a UI perspective:

  • The swipe down transition isn’t obvious unless someone has told you about it
  • Viewing the summary is a lot harder than it used to be (even though it’s the same number of clicks)
  • Finding the account number and sort code is really difficult (I know it’s at the top but if you haven’t seen it before and want to find it quickly, it’s not obvious that it’s there or what it is)
  • No where in the app does the progress towards a pot goal appear graphically (as a progress bar)

I hope this helps :grinning:

Just got the 2.61 update and uh… what’s going on with the nav buttons? They were properly aligned on 2.60

That’s the ‘new nav’ you’ve got there. Enable/disable in labs as needed.

I know, I mean the alignment of the buttons in the bar. They were properly centred in 2.60 (should have put that in my original post)

Looks like they’re aligned if the text is there (not saying this is right!). So they’re adding the text back in but not showing it yet maybe? Just a guess. Aligned fine on Android ATM.

Clicking on the “Things you can do with Monzo” does not do anything?

To add context to the above (until a mod merges) see here:

It isn’t a button  Just a heading title. The list below is a list of the things you can do with monzo and they are all buttons that do things.

I do think the home button needs to do more…

I closed the app on the ‘things you can do with monzo’ screen and, when i came back to the app, had to figure out how to get home (which involved swiping left a lot)

Clicking the home button did nothing. It should take me home!

It does on Android and will do soon on iOS

So @bruno what do you think still needs to be implemented before this is considered finished?

I think you’re talking about a different thing to what the guy was. He meant that clicking the ‘things you can do with monzo’ tile doesn’t do anything.

I really REALLY liked the graph for two reasons:

  1. I can see my historic balances. This is so important for any debit card. Starling doesn’t have a historic balance screen and it drives me nuts.
  2. I can see how quickly I’m spending and also can quickly see where there was a big dip in my spending

I cannot stress enough how important the graph section for me is and I value it tremendously. Same goes for summary.

I also don’t see the need to show the actual card on the home screen. It takes so much space for very little information.

iOS 2.61: The added resistance on the panel makes it much easier to land it in the right place, but I’m also finding it sticks in some random places where it shouldn’t, e.g:
