Virtual Cards Almost There

I saw that Monzo finally added Virtual Cards. YAY! I then noticed that virtual cards cannot be attached to a Jar and will never pay from a jar. A large reason why people loved Simple and One was the ability to attach a specific card number to a specific subscription or other recurring charge. The only workaround I can think of currently is to schedule transfers from every Jar I have set up to go back to my main pot before the transaction goes through. I will probably do that, but it’d be nice to just have it automatically pull from the Jar.

Thank you for adding virtual cards, but please also add the ability to attach them directly to a Jar.

As a UK customer I really struggle to understand why you guys across the pond have so little features in comparison.

We can absolutely attach a virtual card to a pot (or jar as you call them) to pay for subscriptions or have an independent budget associated to them.

Mind you, Chase launched here in 2023 and we are seriously lacking the same features as the US, so hopefully we both see either side play catch up this year.

If I remember rightly, we couldn’t on release - I imagine it will be the same for the US accounts, it’ll be something added in due course

How virtual cards work with Jars is definitely on our minds. For now, you can directly pay for a subscription via an Expense Jar by selecting the merchant.
