Using Monzo on Planes

I don’t expect them to change anything, I’d just be interested to hear how they respond.

If you use supportive evidence in your initial complaint to explain it’s not a prepaid card, they can’t respond with that as an excuse.

Maybe :person_shrugging: I would keep pushing for it to be escalated because prepaid card aside, how they handled the situation was dire too.

Stop pestering stressed out plane-waiters and speak to Monzo, or Tui or your local MP. This is more childish than chasing a note for ‘Get Paid Early’.

Do you seriously think my MP is the appropriate person to escalate this to?

Nope, but neither is complaing here and trying to tap your card when they’re not looking.

:heart_hands:

aside from the slew of personal insults you seem to have decided upon today, ‘bitching’ is patently sexist language.

I’ve just checked for personal insults today and I don’t consider any of them to be personal.

Dictionary definition of ‘slew’ in this context is ‘a large amount’.

It’s the same post every time. Airline doesn’t take my card. It needs to be escalated instead of trying to sneak-pay to prove a point.

We’ve established it’s training, so we’re willfully putting frontline staff in a difficult position.

Well, I’m not.

Astounding. Though not surprising. I’ve flow a few times with TUI and their service has got progressively worse.

This is interesting though, in that this was a total hard no. So it must be canon at HQ.

I feel like this should now be a Monzo thing. If every other bank hasn’t got this issue but they do, feels like they need to change that.

Perhaps tell them we are being “forced” to use Visa

I’m due to go to Spain in July using Ryanair, will Curve fronting my Monzo card work?

Monzo works fine on Ryanair, EasyJet, Finnair, Wizz, Eurowings, in my experience.

And Jet2

Knew I’d missed one I had been on this year! Yes, no problems on Jet2 either.

I am also sooooo frustrated by this, when I got home from America in July (we paid applepay so Monzo accepted no problem) I wrote to TUI to express dissatisfaction about the announcement, no Monzo, I got a call back to tell me they do accept Monzo and its an issues pre dating to when Monzo was prepaid, I asked if cabin crew could be informed he said they would be. Still a massive problem, still saying they don’t accept. I’ve contacted Monzo who say they are looking into it. I fly in 2 weeks with a further 8 flights in next 10 months. I see no other option now than opening another bank account for me and my husband. Shame because I love Monzo, any thoughts on chase?

I agree. You provided your own (and the easiest) solution in the first sentence

If they let you - they didn’t let me!

Recently been in 2 TUI flights to Barbados and back. I was also told Monzo is not accepted! Can anyone at Monzo have a word with tui?
