Hi I’m off to Australia in a couple of months do I need to get the premium account or can I use my normal account?

You don’t need to upgrade to use your card abroad.
I’d check the forum for topics detailing specifics for Australia, eg. ATM fees, switching on magstripe, etc. but otherwise you will be fine to use your card.

Card acceptance (specifically MasterCard acceptance)
ATM’s - which ATM’s charge the lowest fees for withdrawals?
Using cash - will I need cash for a taxi from the airport or can I wait until I get to my hotel to withdraw some from an ATM?
Public transport - are cards accepted?
