Upgraded to perks for higher fees free withdrawal but keep getting declined

I was travelling out to Morocco today and upgraded to perks for the £600 fee free withdrawal. I kept my card and assume I would still get the benefits, however when I landed and tried to withdraw more than £200 it kept denying me.

Was I wrong to assume I could get the benefits with my old Monzo card? What can I do to fix this issue?

Your card should be fine. What was the reason in the app?

In the app it said “Declined, withdrawal exceeds your limit”, but when I check the limit in the app it says “…remaining of £600”

I tried varying amounts above £200 on two ATMs in the airport but both denied:(

Was it only today you signed to Perks? Might resolve itself after midnight.

Your card shouldn’t be impacted as you can sign to perks and not order a card.

Contacting monzo through the help section is the best approach otherwise.

Yeah that’s right only signed up this morning as I realised the default limit was £200 which was too low, I was worried that might be the case but felt hopeful when I saw the limit said £600 in the app.

Surely you should still be able to withdraw the money, doesn’t Perks just allow a higher amount without incurring fees?

Edit: are sure this is not an ATM limit?

There’s a separate £400 per day account limit that the upgrade doesn’t remove. Had you already taken money out that day that would mean your ATM request took you over the £400?
