It’s definitely worth a go.
Yes PayPal Credit is great, but a lot of places I shop don’t take it. I haven’t had any problems so far with acceptance with Tymit.
As you can see in my screenshot I recently used it to spread the cost of annual insurance
I originally got my Tymit as a back up card for occasional use, after Nat West cancelled my previous back up due to lack of use.
Replaced with Tandem, which is sadly no more, then Aqua, who bugged me every 5 minutes because I wasn’t using it so also got binned.
Yes, the app is a bit basic, and the credit limit may not be the best, but the 3 months interest free, no fee overseas spending (when we can finally go again) and the fee free £200 cash withdrawal make it a good option.
So far, I have had no issues with the card and would personally recommend it.
I quite enjoy using Tymit.
The 3 months interest free is great, there’s way to fiddle that currently as well, if you change it to another payment plan then change it back to 3 again
I’ve used it for some bigger purchases using the 24 month option(24 months was the highest, now it’s 36 months). I think the app gives you what you need for the services they offer. It’ gives your projected payable balance for the next few months if you swipe right. It’s really nice to see it forecasted out.
Renaming each transaction is nice. and you always know what month out of x months plan you picked you’re currently on.
Like others have said, Apple and Google Pays would be nice however they have said they’re currently working on it. Direct debit would be good but again, this is being worked on and is currently in beta for some people.
The app was a slow laggy mess, but with every update that comes and goes it seems to improve.
I think as a whole it’s ok, it can only get better. I tend to use it more than my other credit cards because i like the instalments. Ready to go finance in your pocket.
Our Fridge unexpectedly broke in a very bad month for us where we found some major issues with our roof, All our savings are going on the roof but Tymit allowed me to easily finance a new posh fridge freezer without the hit to my credit score.
@Alexxxxx & co
Hey guys, I run Product at Tymit and just wanted to jump in here a bit if you’ll let me ![]()
Firstly, thanks for all the great feedback you and others before have been providing on here (we are always listening
)
The way I’d summarise is that the app is built around showing you what you owe this month (and given the premise is “pay over time”, that most of the time that =/= your balance). So deep diving data is just a bit harder than I’d like it to be.
We tried to simplify things in our app and focus on certain things for our customers but also allow them to find out more if needed/wanted.
As @Addzy has already said we do provide features to look into the future and see how your bills are based on the plans you set for your purchases (screenshot below).
You can also see this as you plan a specific purchase (screenshot below)
Anything that confuses you about what I stated above feel free to reach out on our community ![]()
The Pays

Unfortunately due to how these companies work we can’t share much about the status of these. I can just say that they are so very close and that we will be releasing one of them before the other (and not the typical order you normally see in this industry
)
Direct Debits & more payment methods

I’m happy to say that we are going to release a new version this week
with Direct Debits for anyone who wants to signup on both iOS and Android.
On top of that we have OpenBanking coming soon
which will be even faster and easier for anyone who prefers to be more in control of when payment is taken.
And finally - about the Design of the app

We have been working very hard behind the scenes to come up with a new version of our design and improving the overall experience for our current Tymit users as well as for our new product Booster.
I can share with you a sneak preview of what we are working on and hope to release to you soon!
Direct Debits is one of the factors that made me ditch it many months back, that and the interface not working correctly.
It may be time to jump back in and give it a whirl!
This looks great! Thank you for the update.
The new design looks
Yep thanks for the update. Some of those things were hidden away in screens I didn’t see 12 months ago - so it’s great to see some changes there.
I got £500 on Tymit, so applied for Virgin instead and got £8k. My credit score is flawless.
If the idea is to spread larger purchases across three months or longer, a low limit is doubly pointless.
I asked CS for info on their limit review policy and was just told my interest in an increase had been recorded. Aqua et al at least tell you to wait six months, or whatever… Just vacillating between ditching or chucking in the back of my drawer.
Are you planning an open banking API to hook up to aggregators? If I can’t connect a card to Emma, it’s never going to see more than occasional use, because it’s otherwise hard to track all my spending
Looks like Direct Debits are now available through the app, if you update. At least it seems to be on Android.
A step in the right direction
Got Direct Debit set up on iOS as well
Now I just need Apple Pay
All setup, was pretty easy. Would have preferred if they let you choose the direct debit date though, I like to try and get mine on the first of the month so all my bills come out at the same time.
Whilst we’re talking about Tymit they sent an email out a few weeks ago inviting people to user research. I signed up and had around a 30/40 mins Microsoft Teams call with some of their staff around my thoughts. Didn’t learn anything new other than Apple Pay is coming very soon, but it’s nice they seem to be listening to their customers.
My billing cycle is the calendar month. With payment due / direct debit taken on the 7th of the month.
No idea if that’s just when I applied. Or if it is the same for everyone.
Could possibly be standard, as that’s the same date as mine
I believe it’s a standard date for everyone
Thought I’d apply to have a look, still waiting on them to do manual checks, when I applied it said up to 2 working days. Now it’s basically saying we’re busy so it’s taking longer.
See what happens next week!
Finally got approval on the app in the past 10 minutes. All signed up, I’ve just used it for a takeaway as PayPal Credit is throwing up an error when I try to order.
Have to say I hate the app design, one of the worst I’ve ever had the pleasure of using.
Hopefully those new screens from above will roll out ASAP.
Sent a payment to the card today, impressed with how they showed up within seconds.
I’m used to have to wait hours for confirmation payment has been received followed by a day or 2 for it to actually reflect on the actual account.
Thanks for the “trick”, I didn’t know we can change the second payment to 3 instalments again
