Been watching Mr Mercedes which we missed when it was originally broadcast. Got a bit odd in S2 but overall its been enjoyable with a good cast and Brendan Gleeson is great as Hodges

Cannot wait for this!

Sweetpea. Dreadful.

If it was half as edgy as it thought it was, it might be half decent. But it isn’t. Complete waste of time.

Finished watching Sweetpea last night. It was alright but not great.

Monzo getting a mention in one of the scenes was good for them though. Slightly unfortunate that the wording they chose suggests a pre-paid product still (the husband saying that his wife would return home once her Monzo ā€œruns outā€.)

I think I’ll probably cancel my NowTV sub at this point. I don’t see much else on there.

Brassic was a good binge watch.

I watched the first episode of The Penguin last night. I thought it was meh. No idea what the reviewers who say it’s the best thing since The Sopranos were watching, but it wasn’t this!

I didn’t even know it was based on a book.

I’m really enjoying The Penguin. I do think as it progresses the story gets even better. I think when I started it I watched the first 2 episodes as a double bill and since then I’ve been watching it every Monday when its on Sky Atlantic. Not sure I would say its the best thing since The Soprano’s though. But its a very good watch IMO, I was shocked when someone at work told me that was Colin Farrell playing Oswald. Never would have twigged had I not been told!

I know we don’t really mention many documentaries in here but the BBC series on space with Brian Cox is pretty well done and interesting if that’s your cup of tea.

Agreed. His space documentaries are incredible.

I was tempted to go and see him on tour. He does talks on space and they are usually sell-out shows that would rival many music concerts in terms of scale (and price, sadly).

Hopefully he will go on tour again. I’d like to go.

Hope nobody from TUI was watching it🤣

I carried on watching and it does get better. Really enjoyed the Sofia back story episode

Yup, I do think it’s a great bit of telly. Although found out that because it’s been a bit of a hit they’re now planning on continuing it. Kind of conflicted about this, will they keep the same level (or improve) the writing?

I’m always skeptical when producers see something was a hit and then decide to turn it into a longer series, like they plan to do with Shogun for example.

Another one to add to the list

The first series is really good. It’s also really easy to find free trials for Apple TV+. I’ve had maybe a year of free service from various codes.

It’s not unreasonable to assume that the creators have plans for more than one limited series.

Get smashing Slow Horses while you can! The best series I’ve watched in years!

That’s one of the main ones on my list. Someone at work was describing it and it sounded ace.
