TV Shows!

Felt. Little slow, until the last bits of the second ep.

Anyone watched Yellowstone? Might start it this week.

Just recently finished the first season of Slow Horses on Apple TV. So damn good.

The cast are incredible - Gary Oldman’s character is so vulgar but also endearing.

Think I’ll be sticking with the backlog of Apple TV shows as the production quality is far better than Netflix atm.

Tried to watch Dead Boys Detective Agency and was really let down at the prodution quality versus Sandman :-1:

Ive never been disappointed with an Apple TV+ show. Even the less good ones are either fun or have an interesting story. Netflix on the other hand…

I’ve watched all of Slow Horses and they are all reallt great. I think one thing that helps compared to other similar shows is that it doesn’t try to throw in an overly complicated plot with tons of twists. It focuses on the one main story each time which in this genre feels so refreshing.

Very late to the party, but I recently picked up six months of Now TV for £30.

Finally got the watch The Last of Us, which totally lived up to the hype. Episode 3 in particlar was a brilliant hour of telly.

Plenty still to get through:

  • Succession
  • Watchmen
  • Mare of Easttown
  • True Detective
  • The White Lotus
  • House of the Dragon
  • Chernobyl
  • The Wire
  • Sopranos (rewatch)

Add The Sympathizer to the list if it’s on there (it’s an HBO show so I’m assuming so).

It’s a very stylish espionage drama/comedy that features an unhinged Robert Downey Jr playing multiple characters.

Also worth mentioning that the Sympathizer is made by Park Chan-Wook. That’s the draw for me, anyway. Maker of films like Decision to Leave, Joint Security Area, Oldboy, etc.

His previous TV show was the BBC adaptation of John le Carre’s Little Drummer Girl.

@hdwrng i saw an ad for it but forgot what it was called .

@HoldenCarver you forgot The Handmaiden!

The very questionable UKTV rebrand to U is coming in July

I’m starting season 4 of The Boys (and about to discover what Prime is like with ads).

I am just watching it on my brand new 77" tv! All the gorez!

You’re a little late to the party, but I’m always jealous of people who have yet to enjoy this masterpiece!

Yeah I’d never been able to push through first season (trait of mine) but I have this time.

Two episodes left and it’s done. What a ride.

Just rewatched Interview with a Vampire on BBC iPlayer - hope part II makes its way across here soon!

Supacell is pretty good. Don’t usually enjoy British programmes like this.

Nearly on the final episode.

Watched the first episode, finding it a bit cringe. So far seems like a GCSE reenactment of Top Boy. Will give it another episode to see if things improve…

The first ep was drab. Definitely got better:

Following up on my Now TV bingeing.

Watchmen and Mare of Easttown were both top tier, particularly the latter.

Love that they were both also limited series. No dragging things out and unnecessary cliffhangers.

Not strictly Apple TV+ but I’m watching BBC iPlayer through it and I’m glad to see Series 2 is coming soon:
