TV Shows!

Has anyone started that show in iPlayer called Colin from Accounts?

I’m only an episode in but it shows pretty good promise

On a less comedic route - I watched Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland recently as well. Harrowing but thoroughly well made trying to show as many voices as it could.

I watched the first episode but I haven’t had the chance yet to go back and finish the rest of the series. I really enjoyed No Activity, which was another show the two main cast were in. Don’t know if that’s still streaming anywhere but worth it if you can find it (note:I understand there are US and Korean remakes, I haven’t seen those).

Not yet, but everyone seems to be recommending it to me at the moment!

I’ll need to give it a shot after I finish Colin from Accounts - their dynamic works pretty well so I’ll try and hunt it down.

Bend to the peer pressure!

Out of interest, anyone watching ‘Wolf’ from the Beeb (2 episodes a week on BBC One, whole series already available on iPlayer)
Mild spoiler warning from ep 1 (although not if you’ve seen any trailers)

I did find myself shouting at the family in the first episode “It’s Sacha Dhawan and Iwan Rheon! DON’T TRUST THEM!!!”

Watch The Bear on Disney+!!

My other half and me just binged all of season 1 and all of season 2 episodes that are out in a few days. I had heard it was good but it didn’t really grab me as a show but we were looking for something to watch and I figured let’s see how episode 1 is and dam it’s good.

S2 had an epsiode that gave me near Ted levels of feel good but less lighthearted and more adult but don’t take that as the whole show as season 1 didn’t.

(1 of the cameos listed below for season 2)

Jamie Lee Curtis even has a cameo in season 2 and she absolutely rocked it!

Paging @AlanDoe and anyone else interested in this Aussie comedy with the main actors from Colin From Accounts, BBC2 are repeating this from next Thursday at 10pm. Hopefully they’ll put the lot on iPlayer afterwards.

That’s Sky for you. I have to pay for HD (and UHD) with Sky Q, although I did manage to get a decent renewal deal when my contract ran out (Entertainment, Cinema, Sports and Netflix with UHD for £51).

One of the features of Boost is 5.1 audio, but I can’t seem to get it working via both TV or the built in Samsung TV app.

I can’t work out whether I’m doing something wrong or if it’s just not available.

I’m trying to watch Sky Sports live - I know that Sky make the Premier League available in Dolby Atmos for Sky Q subscribers so it shouldn’t be a problem to downmix but all I’m getting is stereo. Now I’m wondering if they’re just not making live 5.1 available for Now subscribers even if they pay for the feature?

Also, on a separate note, this is interesting:

Sky Stream, which is £29 per month (£26 per month on a 18 month fixed contract) and includes Netflix (although just ‘standard’ Netflix) has a £6 UHD/4K boost package.

I have a theory, based on absolutely nothing, that later this year (Oct) they’ll either overhaul NowTV to rebrand it fully as Sky Now and it’ll be the same service you get through Sky Go/Stream or they just launch Sky Go as a standalone package to let people get ‘full’ Sky TV through an app on any device (Apple TV, XBox, Playstation, Google TV).

Sky Glass launched Oct 2021, Sky Stream roughly a year later in Sept 2022, so something coming out end of Sept/Start of Oct 2023?

Sky Now : £20 (wouldn’t include Netflix)
Sky Stream : £29

Just to follow up on this, I’ve just had FP1 of the Dutch Grand Prix on live and I was getting 5.1 output both via Apple TV and the Samsung app.

The golf came on Sky Sports Main Event afterwards and output switched back to stereo.

Seems like it depends on the content then whether or not 5.1 is provided and for some reason the Premier League isn’t covered.

I also noticed this, I’ve never actually used race control. I wonder whether this is going to be all the driver onboards? I guess I’ll find out during qualifying tomorrow or possibly not until the race.
