Really? Anyone seen his details here?
I’m investigating this atm. I really hope it’s not accurate.
Since this thread was made there have been multiple posts on that site now…
Apart from the name on the review I’ve seen nothing else. Bit childish and stupid if anyone’s done what he said
He says he received emails to his personal email address. Discourse doesn’t give that away so I don’t know how that’d even be possible anyway?
Maybe trust pilot does? The address you sign up with forwards them on? I’m sure it’s through whatever platform rather then manually entering them but from a PR point of view it’s terrible
I guess if their Discourse user name or profile made clear their full name then someone may be able to Google it and trace an email address that way. But however anyone could go to those lengths to bully someone they disagreed with on here it beggars belief!
I don’t believe anyone was ‘doxxed’ not by anyone no here anyway
Strictly speaking you’re correct, as a key plank of ‘doxxing’ is the sharing of the personal information, and none of that has happened here. No personal details have been posted on the forum.
It is (theoretically) possible to search and find Mr Knight’s email address, though, from what he’s shared publically. So I can believe he has received emails.
I think everyone here would agree with me when I say that if he has received emails then this is absolutely not condoned by the community, and that if anyone has done this they’ve gone too far in their defence of Mozno. He’s entitled to express his views without being harangued in private.
But that aside, he hasn’t been doxxed. Unless someone can point to the forum post where his details have been shared?
There’s literally now a review from someone who is just basing there review on the forum.
You’d think the community was a compulsory part of having a Monzo account.
I’m going to close this thread while we investigate what’s been going on. I don’t want to encourage any further speculation.
Needless to say, I’ll be very disappointed if there’s been any kind of harrassment here - on or off the forum.
I just saw this thread reopened so went and had a look on trust pilot. Some of the reviews are terrible…lots and lots say scam. Feels like a lot of false reviews, almost like a campaign again monzo. I like moaning as much as the next person but most of the reviews on there are BS and potentially damaging.
it is the same with reviews for other firms as well. personally I ignore the website and never contribute or read reviews there.
One of the fintechs has been playing dirty with review sites and app stores for ages. I won’t name any names but it begins with “R”
If you don’t believe it - do some googling and compare the reviews. For me the biggest red flags on review sites are brief one liners with 5 stars from a new account and reviews where they say “(employee name) was so helpful on the in app chat” - that’s just taking the mick out of the review platform and the reader’s intelligence.
Are Monzo going to take any action on this?
I hope so
