If you’re talking about the connected accounts, go to that account then tap the bar chart button top right. Scroll down to the bottom then you should see a toggle for the weekly report.
Oh that weekly one
Thought it was weekly budgeting summary not the weird random trends summary
The app sometimes seems to get stuck on the Trends page but thinks it’s on the home page, meaning pressing the home button does nothing. Flicking to another tab resets it correctly and allows you to get to the home page.
That works, thank you
I’ve noticed my joint account keeps deselecting. I have 2 other linked accounts that stay ticked fine, but the monzo joint randomly unticks.
Any ideas?
You’re not the only one finding this
My only idea is to keep selecting it again until they fix it (or find some other mechanism to reveal the selection)
Some more general feedback
It would be nice to be able to “swipe” between months or at least have some buttons to do so on the main screen. It is a bit more fiddly to move between months than one would prefer
Looks like bulk category updates are in the works
Finally
Looks nice, and really clear. This would get me using custom categories where previously I haven’t.
I suspect though that some will want more granularity than this approach seems to offer, but looks excellent to me.
I agree with more granularity. But this is something that can definitely be worked with and be a lot quicker than current processes. Especially to reclass all transactions from a certain pot that has high volume (like the 1p savings challenge which I cba to move from transfers as there are so many of them!)
So very true. Currently myself and my wife use our JA for about 70-80% of our monthly budgeting needs. Not having JA more central stage, in the way Monzo is developed, is such a shame
Snap. JA is #1. I suspect for most people out of their ‘20s that this is the case. So, like, the majority…
I have a few different income streams so created custom categories for my main employment and then one for some Benefits.
Because those payments are no longer in the Income category Trends is showing them as spending.
How do I stop this happening? Basically I want to exclude a category from appearing as spending.
Hi guys, this works good - bar one thing. Would it be possible to have the option of starting it one day earlier to fit in payday?
One bit of feedback (that I understand why it is like this, but it creates a terrible CX).
I am a plus subscriber that uses custom categories. However, in trends I can’t use my categories for spend within the joint account. I know there are always cries for joint account parity - this is the first time I’ve felt a direct contradiction with the paid for service that I can’t use it properly.
Okay coming in hot with something I did not think I would be suggesting.
Right now, trends and summary don’t mesh.
Example:
-
I spend £500 on credit card last month, which I have categorised properly in trends across various transactions and categories;
-
I pay off credit card this month;
-
If I want trends to work, I mark that whole £500 as ’Transfers’ (or Monzo does it automatically). However, this means summary is useless as my spending this month is either mostly ‘Transfers’ or I exclude the payment and then summary is useless because it isn’t showing me how much I have spent.
-
If I want summary to work, I would have to mark that £500 as various categories. However, this would then be double counting in trends and make trends a completely inaccurate view of my spending across all accounts.
Proposed solution (again, hate that I’m saying this): split summary and trends transactions into two lists on the backend.
We’ve already been told that summary will die one day, and that they’re totally different systems. Until that happens though, I’m forced to use a sub-par/basically useless summary experience if I want to use trends and see spend across all accounts.
I know that throws up the question of what list a feed transaction category would change / which is the master list. I think summary makes most sense… but also maybe there’s a toggle. And then whichever isn’t the ‘master’ would just be changed on the summary or trends screen.
I know this is probably too difficult and would throw up a lot of confusion. But it’s also just unworkable the way it’s currently set up.
Trends seems set to be brilliant, but until then… it sucks that my budgeting with summary has become useless.
What are you still using summary for? It died a long time ago for me…
Sounds like a ‘hide summary’ toggle in labs might help keep things all appearing accurate.
Taking both of these p tongue in cheek and I guess I agree lol…
But trends doesn’t have budgets, so not like that actually fixes the issue. I can hide broken summary, but I still don’t have budgets until trends becomes properly built.
Maybe the suggestion isn’t the solution, but what’s the point of releasing a half built feature that also breaks the other feature
