Agree I was expecting a lot more to come but maybe my expectations vs that of Monzo are different
Sarcasm is supposed to be funny.
But it’s always best to pay for what you’re happy with now, rather than what you hope it might be in the future.
Now you’re quoting one of my mantras (maybe not on here but it is one of the things I have a bee in my bonnet about).
That runs along with “No, you’re not investing in the company, you’re buying a product” although that’s a line I’ve also never used in the Monzo context which is a relief.
Back to Trends proper.
I’ve used Monzo as my main account for years now. That means paying for my credit card direct debit from it.
For the months where there are transactions from my connected card account, it makes sense that that direct debit is excluded as a transfer. But for the months where the open banking data doesn’t go back that far, I’d like them categorised as General, please, so I can still keep track of expenditure.
I’ve done that manually now, but like lots of things, it’s a bit of an effort and I think many won’t bother. But I’m sure there are some smarts that could be applied here!
Errors identifed!
I’ve seen this a small number of times: transactions appearing under the wrong category in Trends:
Annoying but more scientifically sound than a self-selecting audience.
Any more switchy-ony this week @benstrak

The icons should be coming to iOS soon ![]()
While that would be nice, you realise we have to pick one of them to do first? ![]()
Do they also appear in the wrong category in Summary?
Is it still in the wrong category in Trends? I wonder if you’ve re-categorised it since.
It is unfortunately.
Hang on, is that the same transaction as before? I don’t think the dates match.
(This transaction showing in the wrong place in Trends is a known bug that I understand; but it should also show in the wrong place in Summary, unless my understanding is wrong!)
So this is odd: it doesn’t seem to show in Summary at all…
Will investigate more later when I’ve more time.
Have you got “exclude from spending summary” selected on the transaction?
Ah, it might be under income because it’s a credit? Summary is odd
It’s quite old now – you should think about replacing it with a new version re-written from the ground up ![]()
@Peter_G Thanks for reporting; this should be fixed now ![]()
When’s the next batch getting enabled then?
Thanks!
Interestingly it got fixed by changing the category (so it was incorrect). But I’ve just moved it back and all seems fine now.
Never was able to find it in Summary though. Good job it’s in the road to replacement!
