Transaction Dispute

Hey,

So I’ve been charged twice by a merchant for paying off my phone contract early. One yesterday when I paid it off and one again today.

I’ve disputed the transaction since I’ve been double charged.

Yesterday’s payment is showing as pending, while today’s looks to have cleared if that means anything?

First time doing this, are Monzo decent with disputes? This is over £1000, across the two transactions?

Sweating a little since my holiday budget has just vanished. :eyes:

What did the phone network say when you spoke to them?

Pending will likely revert 7/30 days.

As Carlo has rightfully said

That’s an invalid charge back as as long as the payment is pending it will drop off within seven or 30 days if the merchant do not collect it

It has recently been 8 days for me on Flex. In fact, Monzo’s own help articles say that pending transactions will drop off after 8 or 30 days.

It’s 7 or 30.

They’re likely including day of transaction to remove confusion for consumer.

Just that they can only see the one payment of £596 yesterday, and the error will be with the bank.

Thanks for all your answers guys, much appreciated. Go on holiday in 11 days, so let’s hope it’s the first rather than the latter.

Hopefully it’ll drop off but I’d chase them next week.
