The Wallet/Bag Discussion

Good luck with 6, maybe once the leather flex’s some it might.

I’ve just got the Secrid Card Protector. I could see no need in paying extra for the wallet.

I ordered this one the other day: Miniwallet Matte Truffle

Did you buy this? Is it good?

I need a new daily backpack (lost mine :pensive:). The 20L one looks perfect.

Yes, can recommend it wholeheartedly! Such great quality and love that it integrates with the bigger carry-on bag for when I’m travelling

Good to know, just ordered it! So rare to find a backpack I’d be happy with round the city and also on a long hike

I went for black with orange straps.

I returned the bigger bag for now and gonna reorder it when it is also available in black. Should be September time they told me.

That’s how I have my cards too, which means they never “look” good in the wallet.

But having them chip side up feels weird, the chip being constantly in contact when removing them. Plus the notches are a good way to push the card back in.

Don’t you have the cards so the chip is at the top so you can slide it almost out of the protector and use contactless and then slide it back into the protector. There’s various YouTube vids about this. One that springs to mind and where I got my Secrid card protector is from Slim Wallet Junkie.

It doesn’t - the wire acting as the antenna is generally routed around the border of the card multiple times.

Garmin are a great smartwatch choice. Great health metrics and you only need to charge once every 2 weeks as opposed to daily with the Apple Watches.

Been rocking a Fenix 6 Pro sapphire for 3.5 years now and it still works flawlessly.

What garmin watch did you pick up out of curiosity. My aw 6 is banged up and needs swapping out and I was considering a garmin one instead

I’m still happy with a cheapo miband and an actual watch.

Finally got around to getting a new work bag. I work from home in the north but find myself often having to go to London for work for a few days which means having to take a house.

Love Patagonia gear, it really seems to last. For some reason it was on sale at £50 so even with postage from the south coast it’s still massively cheaper then buying it direct.

It works really well for me personally having now used it for a good few trips. I was worried initially the limited organisers would be an issue but this has turned out to not be a problem. It’s a surprising black hole, yet things don’t feel unorganised.

Pictures below but essentially no regrets here, ridiculously good bag and has suited both 2 and 3 day and 1 day trips into the smoke and back really well.

I’m on the market for a new backpack for my commutes.

I’ve been using a former work supplied (Targus) backpack for many years but this one looks great. Plus I could use it for travelling as well.

£50 is a steal, will have to keep an eye out for a sale.

Three pockets.

The back is the laptop area. Once the sleeve, which you can take out, is in its pretty much full.

Main large pocket

Front little pocket.

After a month or so with it I can’t recommend the Salian bag enough. Just so well made, really good organisation and access, and several people have said how good it looks (unprompted I promise!).

It is 20L though. The advantage is that it can be your carry on item if flying, the disadvantage is that 20L is a bit limited space wise.
