Moving the discussion from our neon card thread over here so everyone can share the sweet choices they’ve made
Add another card or couple of notes in, bulk it out. Had my bellboy 2 years, don’t use it all the time but do love it.
I’ve never heard of Secrid. Love Freitag already. Looks like they sell Secrids in a shop near my work so I might check them out later.
Freitags are really hardwearing, each one is unique because of the tarps, obviously, each made to standard designs. I’d say Crumplers are slightly more robust (my three have been going strong for nearly twenty years each) but the Freitag store in Zürich is always worth a visit.
Bellroy Slim Sleeve wallet, and a Bellroy Classic Backpack for when I leave the house.
I’d say Freitags are soft and flexible. They’re definitely not stiff, I’ve never owned one though (my bro has a couple) so I can’t speak for the seams. Crumplers are slightly stiffer, but certainly not weirdly so. The courier bag wraps around my back great. (My camera bag is like a box, for obvious reasons!) But my Crumplers still look brand new after two decades, and wash in the machine well. Zero wear and tear, literally zero. After a nuclear winter, the only things on earth will be cockroaches and Crumplers ha.
Both will last forever, almost.
I have the Bellroy card sleeve that I sometimes remember to take out with me – I often just use my phone.
For rucksacks, I spent months (no joke) researching and I eventually settled on an Everki Concept. I loved it, but after about 5 years the straps wore down. I got in contact with CS and they made a one-time exchange for the new Concept 2. Really great service, and incredibly hard wearing bags. My other half has the Everki Versa, which is also quite nice.
I wish I could take the leap in to a wallet without a coin section but even though I haven’t used cash in years I still buy a purse with a little pocket.
So I use a small Hershel wallet with a zip round the outside so it can hold loose things.
And it lives in my Fjallraven Kanken. I have just clocked that you can now make custom Kanken’s so I am super tempted to buy a new one!
I am currently in between two. I use the Louis Vuitton Pocket Organiser which I got as a present and the Oliver Co London Slim Card Holder.
The Oliver Co London is a Apple Leather wallet so 100% cruelty free and an absolute gem. It’s so soft and a nice texture. It’s the one I’m using the most. My only gripe with it is it doesn’t patina and stretch like leather does.

I have also used the Akielo Charlie Collection which is about £14 on Amazon. I enjoy this but don’t use it that much.
I’ve had a Bellroy (Slim Sleeve) but didn’t like it that much after a while.
The bag I’m using is from Seventeen London Ilfold https://amzn.eu/d/anPRn6m
From a similar historic thread, I’m still using the same 2 bags - one during the work week, one at weekends. Absolutely indestructible.
My other half bought this (in black) a couple of years ago, but she couldn’t get on with it, so it’s been sat in a drawer ever since.
My 20+ year old wallet finally gave up a few months ago, so I grabbed this as a stop gap.
Although sold as a “women’s card holder” I find it perfect for my needs.
Slimmer than my old wallet, more than enough card space, and even a bit of space for the rare time I need to carry a bit of cash.
I have found it so good, I haven’t bothered looking for another one.
Where they get the idea that this is just for the girlies, I have no idea
Literally came here this morning to post a Joey gif. I’m so Gen X.
I bought this after my long search for the perfect card wallet, I 100% love it, super slim, super secure and very easy on the eye.

Hermes City 4CC and Citizen Twill Card Holder is the best in my opinion, soft leather and nice design.
Only one option for me - The Ridge, burnt Titanium, with the money clip.
I have had one for a few years now and it does the job perfectly. In all that time I have only had one issue when, at Brussels airport, a particularly stupid security chap thought it was some sort of weapon.
Wingback Winston in black with blue thread, with personalisation. Small number of cards plus driving licence, and usually about £15-£20 in cash (only a fiver when the photo was taken as I’d just been to the barber who only takes cash).
Also have a Skagen slim card wallet which holds four cards but cash is a problem with that one. Useful for an evening out though.
Edit: yes, I’m from Yorkshire. Like being Scottish, but without the open-handed generosity
For anyone who loves the latest and greatest in Bag Technology, there’s a website called Carryology (and Instagram of the same name) who review latest news in all forms of Carry related tech.
From indie brands to weird niche types of backpacks - all covered. If you’re after a bag and you’re like “I need one that does X” you’ll probably find they’ve reviewed one.
They also do collabs from time to time and have just done one with Bellroy on a slim wallet
Pack Hacker is also a really good place to research bags and travel gadgets before buying them. Super useful and has introduced me to some brands I hadn’t heard of before.
