The Colour of the Debit Card

If a simple colour is going to cause so much trouble you can also buy covers from here.

It’s orange.

Some banks go for pink (which is actually just a shade of red).

ls

Monzo is hot coral.

I was told pink is a shade of red mixed with violet.

Pink as a colour doesn’t even exist. :exploding_head:

Pink is just pale red . It needs no violet to be pink but violet can enhance the pink.

Pink (read Hot Coral) was originally worn and associated with boys as men typically wore red in the 19th century, soooooooo…

Great idea but if you want more choice you’re going to have to pay for it

That’ll be why I hate pink then, it’s my old fashioned femininity

Good job that the Monzo card doesn’t even remotely look pink

and why I wear a pink shirt on Wednesday - I declare that mean girls should be re-shot as “mean boys”!

yup… coral and pink, the two colours that are so similar, I call one the other…

Then people sobered up and made blue for boys and pink for girls sooooooo.

P. S. Being gay and slavery was illegal back then. Looking back at the past is often never a good idea for the reason that humanity changes for the better, as we know better we hopefully do better.

Because we can relate positive advancements in humanity with pink = girls and blue = boys can’t we.

We also know better now that colours are inherently gendered and for a boy to wear or use something that is pink should be ridiculed.

I was looking back to the past to show how silly/ fickle it is to think colours are gendered. The cards hot coral if you don’t like it, don’t get the card :man_shrugging:t2:

Exactly, if you don’t like the colour of our card then go find another bank

Well if that’s what you think so who am I to argue.

We? Who’s we? In any case being condescending doesn’t work as above.

Now that is stupid. It’s totally impossible to like the bank and dislike the card yeah? :man_facepalming:

You’ve missed the sarcasm in my reply - you started using “we” so I carried it on.

If someone is that offended by a card colour they won’t care about the bank - which is what I was trying to highlight - it’s so mad to think a card colour could turn someone away from a bank, hence my sarcastic response.

I was using the word we to describe that we all are human beings.

Here is where your argument falls apart. The 1st issue is not mutually exclusive with the 2nd. Sooooooo.

I don’t think we need to resort to making personal comments on whether someone has original thought, but ok.

I’m not trying to make an argument either way, if someone is that offended about the colour of the card that they’ll forget about the rest of what a bank does and not use them (not saying you can’t like the card but to make it a boys don’t like hot coral debate) then that seems a bit weird to me :man_shrugging:t2:

You’re right, as you know better you do better. It was removed while you was composing your reply.

Neither am I (as it wasn’t my argument in the first place) I was bored and had a few seconds to spare and thought was you said wasn’t right for the above reaaons and here we are. I bear no malice.

As for boys not liking the colour hot coral I don’t know about that. I do know a man that doesn’t like the colour🙋‍♂️ probably because I’ve had remarks while using it.
