I would like to see an option to set the start of the month for upcoming payments in virtual pots and the main account
My pay day is the 28th of the month
It makes it very difficult to budget when on payday Monzo says my subscriptions pot has £4.99 remaining in upcoming payments
And on the 1st, I have £100
Which includes the payments I just made 2 days ago
Using two methods here.
Trends - set this to 28th
Summary - tap main account, pie chart top right, and edit the date to reflect the 28th each month (might be set to 1st to 31st).
Summary will soon be removed in its entirety and (I think) it’s this that sets the date memoir inside Pots.

I do have the trends set to the 28th, as far as I can tell that only affects the trends, not the bit I look at on payday that tells me how much I have left to pay this month for each pot
Edit
Setting the summary was what I needed
But that is so unintuitive
Why don’t we have a “payday” option that just sets this universally?

Summary will disappear soon as it is being retired, and you’ll solely rely on Trends and utilising Spotlight (swipe down from your Home Screen).

Are they planning to tie this feature into the trends then?
Because it seems like an important, and basic, feature for budgeting
No, it gets wiped out and you use the balance and targets tabs in trends to utilise Spotlight.
It does work, you just need to include your Pots in the spending tab for it to make left to spend accurate.
If you’ve not already, you can edit what you see in Spotlight:

look, I just think it would be 100 times more intuitive to stick the start of the month button somewhere that actually makes sense
because right now, tucked away in the filter button on the trends tab… if you never need to touch that button, you’ll never think to look there
and until i updated the summary, the trends “start of month” did not affect the “left to pay” of the pots that were included in the trends
so if it’s supposed to do that, it’s not, and it’s broken

It’s very broken at the moment.
There used to be Summary. The app used data from Summary to create the reporting cycle.
Then Trends was developed. And launched. Side by side with Summary. And it also created a reporting cycle selection.
There can be only one.
But there are still two. For some mind-blowing reason (actually, just the normal MVP attitude), Summary is still there and used.
Utter UX madness.

Get over it.
