People sometimes get spooked by capital letters. Seems v odd, either way.

Wonder if it seemed spammy? First post and not much content?

This is such a good idea, I’m
Up for the challenge, just started now

I really like this challenge and it serves a great purpose. I’ve always found it hard to save up so this sort of thing will make it fun for me.

Encouragement from Monzo would be - rewards or badges etc.

Also auto setting a sum to go into the pot would beneficial. I have set reminders on my phone.

Amazing idea! I am currently using Plum to autosave for me and its great (about £150 saved a month) but this could be a great way to boost it even more! Trying to save for a big holiday so every little helps!

It’s a great idea. I’m on day 26 and even though it’s a small amount now. It seems totally doable in the long run.

I did it old school last year, change in a jar on the shelf. Got to July but was too difficult to get change, ended up spending to get coins back which was counter productive. Be at lot easier in the app although I like that my balance is neat after coin jar rounds it down

Going well so far. Managed day three! I’ve saved a total of 6p. Determined.

The problem that I have found is that after a week or so I accident forget a few days and then have to play catch up.

I can recommend a couple of fixes for this! You could try…

  • Popping an event in your calendar app that repeats daily
  • Telling Siri/Alexa/Google Assistant to remind you about something daily
  • Using IFTTT to send you a reminder somewhere you’ll see it. (Or just use the built-in features of say, Slack).
  • Getting into the habit of doing it at the same time every day, like while you’re waiting for the morning kettle to boil.
  • Sharing when you’ve done it in this thread, so everyone else gets a notification reminder.

But would this just be great if this was just done in app rather then going around the houses. Even just a notification or done for me. :money_with_wings:

What I do is pay it in monthly. So on every pay day I pay in what the total should be at on the next pay day. Find this easier than paying in each day, plus I don’t like seeing it each day on my feed. Looks a bit spammy.

Build an API integration that looks at the day of the year and moves that amount in pence to a pot?

It would be, I do it every day or every other day but I wish I didn’t have to see what is the amount in the pot, adding 1 pound a day is not a problem but what a surprise to find 200 there after few months

Well I’m on Day 35 now. Seems like one get to +50p a day it’ll start racking up a bit more… How’s everyone else getting on?
