Targets bug

That’s a bit strange but to be fair, that doesn’t seem like a problem to me. It sounds like the app just greys out the bar if there’s been no transactions for a category in a particular month & then displays the alert colours once there is?

Yeah like I said it’s not detrimental to user experience but still seems a little odd to me. I think you’re right in you’re assumption of how it works. Looks a bit out of place compared to greyed out full bars but it’s fine.

Currently on holiday. I’ve already instructed Monzo to categorise every transaction here as “Holidays” and already been here for several days so quite a few transactions have already been categorised correctly as Holidays.

Probably just a glitch but just received an alert after a fairly large transaction saying I’ve spent all of my allowance for the General category for the month.

I don’t quite get these Targets yet. For example I’ve got £150 shopping target. There’s now £2 left in that Target but it’s still showing as green?

That doesn’t quite seem right :joy:

Out of interest, are you in the TF program?

I’m working on a reply to this Ole, for this post

because I think the 20% saving allowance that he mentions is going to cause issues - I just want to map out what that looks like first..

The release notes for TF said changes were made to Targets & since there’s nothing visible, I guess it has to be the alerts that were changed..I wasn’t expecting that much of a change though

Yes. I’m on 1.8.0.

I got an alert saying I was spending money too quickly on Shopping but UI would suggest otherwise!

I have also experienced this bug

You reported that here right?

Had you updated to the latest version of TF at this point?

Yes that’s it. Was trying to remember where I’d posted it. Thanks.

Admittedly no, just discovered I’m still running 1.7.2 although I do have auto-updates enabled for apps. Just loaded the App Store to manually find the update and 1.8 isn’t available for me.

Ok, that’s helpful actually - so we know it’s affecting all users. Version 1.8’s only available to users in the Test Flight program at the moment, it’s not in the app store yet.

I’m on v1.8 & experiencing the bug too (for Groceries). I’m 27% over my daily allowance + saving allowance for this point in the month & the bar’s still green.

Hey @anon33764741, just wanted to make sure that you’d picked up on the bug reported by myself Ben & Tom in the last few posts from this topic.

Would it be possible to have a quick summary of the changes to the targets that’re being tested in the latest version of TF? It’s difficult to test the changes without knowing what’s been tweaked. There don’t seem to be any UI changes so I’m guessing it is the alerts that have been changed…is anything working differently now than the way you described in this post?

thanks!

This has been fixed for me since I updated to 1.8 yesterday. Can anyone else confirm this?

It has for me too. @daniel.cannon said today that he was working on more bug fixes related to the alerts today too.

Yep, yesterday we deployed a couple of fixes based on the feedback we received that should fix the incorrect spending bar colours (This was a backend change and not included in the 1.8 app release). If you see any other issues with your spending showing the wrong bar colour let me know.

As you can see - this is still far from correct :frowning:

Have you tried force quitting & reopening the app?

Yes indeed I have (a few times).

…and now this which I’m sure can’t be right.
It is the first of the month and I have not spent anything in my categories yet but the line is showing red.
Is that incorrect or am I reading this whole thing wrongly?

Reading it wrong

Think of it like a petrol gauge - it’s showing full at the moment and moves to the left (meaning empty).

Mine does show in green though, not red?
