This would mean a new card would be sent to me etc - right?
Basically, yeah. Just keep a quid in there or if you want to build up some ‘out of sight’ money then stick it there.
It’s what I do, Monzo is my main account but I have my Lloyds account still for anything like that, and it keeps an(other) active account listed on other credit reference agencies.
A new card, yes. New PIN, Sort Code, Account Number etc etc
Perfect, sounds good.
So in terms of a list of actions (in order), please correct me if I’m wrong.
- Create new Lloyds account
- Perform CASS on my old Lloyds account to Monzo
- Inform my Payroll that I’ve completed CASS
- Let everything happen
- Create new account
- Perform CASS, no need to inform anyone, they will all inform you
- Enjoy Monzo
Really? The thing is, I’m doing an Apprenticeship so my Wages aren’t directly given through my employer, they’re an external company paying my salary. Does this make a difference or do I do nothing?
If you’re paid via BACS or bank transfer it makes no difference
Yes, really. CASS takes care of everything. Even if a payment lands in you old (closed) Lloyds account, it will be forwarded to Monzo.
All sorted guys, scheduled to happen next Wednesday. Thanks for your help!
