Switched to Monzo fully with CASS but old account is still open

…and I’ve accidentally used my old Santander account to pay for something, which shouldn’t really have worked as the switch was completed on the 28th of March. Now the account that should be closed is overdrawn and I can’t send money to that account because it just appears back in my Monzo account when I try and send money to it.

Will this be sorted in time through CASS or do I have to get in touch with someone?

You are best to speak with Santander and clear what payment is required to make the account zero, i had the same issue when i switch from a legacy to a legacy, then asked them to close it


I think they are supposed to shut the account, if you have to pay overdraft fees check on that.
