There was another issue with their card transactions 23 and 25 days ago.
Weāre talking about this right, doesnt Monzo use them too? Whatās the alternative?
Only during the prepaid days ⦠itās all in-house now
Are there any better alternatives/rivals to GPS or is that next step building the processor yourself and doing a better job of making it better/stable?
Wait doesnāt Starling do itās own?
Also what is it actually then providing to the NatWest Bo project? I thought of it as banking as a service where NatWest is essentially making a pretty skin for a Starling core? But Starling would then be using GPS underneath rather than NatWest?
Iāve probably got this all wrong.
Revolut are building their own so that says to me that that is the most reliable way
Iām not sure how BaaS works in relation to Natwest, others would be using GPS via Starling
Nope which is why Sterling, Curve and a few others all go down at the same time. Also means Starling canāt pretend everything is okay like they use to in the past.
Whatās stopping Starling writing its own or is it too much cost/not enough people skills/donāt want the hassle and responsibility and let another provider do it? Surely itās better to have full control and probably cheaper?
Who knows, Starling is a black box
We only hear from them when Anne has books to sell
Apparently its for grown-ups
Well grown-up compared to newer challengers.
What do we call the āchallengersā when newer āchallengersā come along? I mean we gotta be on the second(third?) wave now with others trying to get in on the action.
And what happens when the challengers are no longer challenging. If everyone inc legacies have the same features and basically the unique thing is they just donāt have a physical branch?
Challengerettes ā¢.
More GPS issues today
So glad Monzo built their own!
I know Starling hopped that GPS would become more stable after Monzo ditched them.
Doesnāt seem to have worked.
that theory might have worked if Revolut hadnāt greatly increased their number of customers, curve hadnāt been using them and Starling didnāt have business accounts
ie GPS would be stable if no one used them
Just got the email about the new SCA contactless rules, Starling £135 v Monzo £100
Glad non of this bullshit applies to phones.
Misprint perhaps?
Sounds like Starling are going for SCA after every 5 transactions OR after £135 whichever comes first.
