hyper-growth mode klaxon
Really wish Monzo would implement the ability to activate your new card in your mobile wallet before the physical card arrives - really great feature.
with a new one (in Cardiff) to come soon.
Time to get the windows frosted again
I thought this was a thing on Monzo too, now?
Yeah Iām pretty sure you can add to Apple Pay/Android Pay before the physical card arrives now.
Isnāt that just at sign up, not with replacement cards?
Yeah, new cards only, one of the strands of my earlier topic:
In almost all aspects I prefer the Monzo offering, but the granular card controls - to which Starling have just added and so widened the gap - are the real stand out for me with Starling. Not enough to make them my main account, but something I would very much welcome in Monzo
Yeah new signups only
I opened a Starling account this morning, was able to add it to Google Pay instantly and got a notification the account is all set up and ready to go a couple of hours ago. Now just waiting for my teal card!
Interested to have a look around and test it out. I quite like the app so far.
Iām full Starling, have been for a while but Iām really not keen on the teal card, I much prefer the Monzo card.
The supposed recent improvements to Starling customer service - was that only on chat?
Sent them a āMessageā on Thursday night. Got a response very early on Friday morning and sent my response a couple of hours later. Nothing since
That seems to have been my experience throughout my year and a bit with Starling
The split between messages and chats always seemed a bit curious to me!
I think of the message function as dropping them an email. I use this for non-urgent enquiries.
For anything where I want an answer quickly, I use chat. I always get a response within a few minutes and have been very happy with the service Iāve received.
I have also just done the same! I am full Monzo but I am interested to see what Starling is like in comparison to Monzo.
Iām exactly the same! Also Full Monzo but curious.
Aye, probably, but then I tend to use Monzo Chat that way anyway
No response yet. Maybe a bit too non-urgent!
No offence but I think @danmullennis good authority on experiences with Starling.
Whatās that supposed to mean? Iām currently having that experience with Starling, so fair enough for me to comment on it. No message for approaching 48 hours is not superb. Thereās thread after thread on here trashing Monzoās response times, which Iāve not found personally, but I would not argue that such experience trumps theirs
Also forgot to mention, I messaged Starling via the in-app chat moments after signing up with a question about the sign up process.
Received a response in less than two minutes. I was impressed! Replied to say thanks a couple of mins later and the person responding was still there to provide the obligatory āhave a good weekendā etc.
Iām 90% #FullStarling and the last interaction I had with Chat was piss poor, maybe 4 months ago.
I was reporting quite a big bug in the app, it was passed to about three agents and I had to fully explain it to each one before they finally passed it to the engineering team. Was told Iād be contacted, wasnāt and had to chase up. Had to explain the problem AGAIN, and was promised Iād be contacted again. Guess what, I wasnāt.
Starling did fix the bug eventually though, so meh.
Both Monzo and Starling need to get a grip on their customer service, in my experience. It lets both banks down compared to the high streets.
